QUOTE(thornduck @ Feb 14 2010, 05:54 PM) Looking for a 2.1 speaker combo within the range of 300 to 400 MYR. Mainly to watch movies and play games. I'm not a fan of deafening bass effects. Like clear sounds and hate excessive vibrations of "tin can" speakers. Unfortunately, I do not know where to start for this purchase. When I last looked at speakers, everyone was recommending the Altec Lansing ATP-3 :S (To give you an idea of how long ago that was). if you can find altec lansing atp3 then it's awesome but oredi pupus so don't think about itPlease help and thanks in advance. get some edifier products like C3 or S330 that's what most of us recommend in this budget |

QUOTE(McRyan @ Feb 21 2010, 12:05 AM) i dunnoI've heard many vs4121 midrange isn't very impressive and bass is unstable but somehow my friend's vs4121 sounded okay (what I mean was okay, not extremely good) and one of them is at harvey norman and it sounded good so I'm guessing if you are lucky you'll get those good ones but most likely you'll get the not good ones Note: I'm speaking through MY experience. QUOTE(Hey1st @ Feb 23 2010, 09:56 PM) Hi guys, any recommendation for good speaker ? get an edifier e3100My max budget is RM 200. I planning to use it with my laptop. Btw,what is the difference between 2.1 and 5.1 system ? Thanks. it's good 2.1 means two speakers and one subwoofer for the boom boom part 5.1 means 5 speakers and one subwoofer for the boom boom part (5 speakers so that you can experience surround/cinema sound feel) |

QUOTE(Dai Li @ Feb 25 2010, 02:34 PM) hey guys.im thinking of getting a new speaker for my pc.been using my altec acs33 since like forever.plus the left speaker died about 2 years ago.been listening to song n movie thru one speaker n woofer only.lol.as for now..im not sure on getting either a 2.1 or 5.1..mostly gonna use for listening music, then movie..not much of a gamer tho. if you get a 5.1 then you'll only hear sounds coming through the front left/right sat speakers onlyif i were to get a 5.1 system...will normal mp3 song get the surround sound effect?or do i have to use flac instead to make full use of the 5.1 speaker? no sound from rear/center and subwoofer. unless your soundcard can throw out two more inputs I'd say choose 2.1 instead for better music performance and portability as 5.1 can be very messy |

QUOTE(Dai Li @ Feb 27 2010, 07:24 PM) okay.thx for all the explanation.i've decided to get a 5.1. my budjet is about rm600 like that.so was thinking either the r501 or the da5000.did thought of the s550.but not sure i should be spending that much for the speakers for now.but yeaa..kinda tempted as well. bout the r501..kinda worries me bout the only control is on the remote..they do tend to drop a lot =/ any comment on the edifier da5000 guys? try to get the da5000pro not the da5000 originalnicer sounding speakers |

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Mar 1 2010, 11:56 AM) really lol?vs4121 woofer kept interrupting the vocals when a man talks it's annoying, too much midbass. QUOTE(Dai Li @ Feb 28 2010, 05:50 PM) how far superior is the da5000pro compare to the original da5000?at the moment i only found the original da5000 here in kuching, sarawak. the pro have a tweeter added to each satellite and center speaker, giving much nicer sounding trebles and enhanced vocals.Plus the satellite enclosure is made out of MDF woodthe old one doesn't have tweeter, instead they have dual midrange speakers in each sats and it's enclosure is made out of plastic which isn't very good. QUOTE(Dai Li @ Mar 1 2010, 02:49 PM) oh..hm.but not sure i can get the pro at my place here tho..compare to r501 which one perform better with the original da5000? that I don't know because to me it sounded about the sameI'd say choose da5000 because can adjust through the sub instead plus some treble volume function. it'll be dangerous if you lose the remote if you buy r501 but that's your choice,R501 for cheap and DA5000pro for safety and extra function. test the speakers yourself if got the chance I can't comment about how good it sounds because different people different taste QUOTE(KepalaRadio @ Mar 1 2010, 04:43 PM) Well then what about a 2.1 set with good midrange and clarity costing around RM200? Is the Edifier M3300 or E3100 a good choice? I'd say choose e3100 because m3300 subwoofer sometimes interrupts the vocals during movie sessions.that's just my opinion. go test it yourself. it's better I can't comment about how good it sounds because different people different taste |

QUOTE(Dai Li @ Mar 1 2010, 07:48 PM) thx again powe911.you've been very helpfull.tried to test some of the speakers just now.too bad cant find both r501 and the da5000 at the shops here..a lot of those sonicgear and some brand i neverheard of..im gonna try look for more tomorow.how bout the HCS5640?care to elaborate more a bit on the awesomeness? =) it's preference thoI actually liked the da5000pro sound quality but because hcs5640 have more functions like radio, usb,sd card, etc and also the external amp. I'd choose them more than sound quality. also please avoid sonic gear. |

QUOTE(Dai Li @ Mar 1 2010, 11:14 PM) there was also a lot of eacan [brands] =) where did you live anyway?well.my guy only can get the da5000 for me..his supplier dont have the pro one..havent ask him bout the hcs5640 yet tho.so for now..its either the da5000 or maybe the hcs5640.both which i doubt i can find here..so testing it first before ordering em, is not likely gonna happen..so yea.m relying a lot on other's reviews now..trying to get the da5000pro from other people would cost a lot for the postage n everything. lol.itchy already wanna get a new set of speakers. I've heard that ikano there got a digital store which sell some speakers. not sure if they supply this two speakers or not. as far as I know lowyat is the best place to get them. Should try to go there if possible |

QUOTE(Dai Li @ Mar 2 2010, 07:21 PM) thx edifier for the info.so i went to pc city after work just now.the s550 sq really nice.love it..then tried the da5000..kinda huge gap interm of the sq for me i think..not really loving it..well maybe cuz im comparing something that priced doubled..c3 sounded a lot better than da5000.they dont hav the da5000pro n the hcs5640 tho. hcs5640 is very different from c3 in sound quality especially in bassso its either i get the s550(but hav to wait for few weeks to get the extra money @_@)..or buy the hcs5640 from forumer here..rm850 including postage doesnt sound bad...or go for 2.1..get the c3.. does hcs5640(c6) performs same like the c3? dilema~~ hcs5640 have powerful bass while c3 have ok bass hcs5640 trebles sounded sharper and higher compared to c3 hcs5640 have extras features that c3 doesn't have which may interfere with the sound quality Added on March 2, 2010, 10:09 pmoh if got the chance to get s550 then you better get that one. worth the price too and the 10" subwoofer can handle the bass better than hcs5640 This post has been edited by power911: Mar 2 2010, 10:09 PM |

QUOTE(Hawaiiii @ Mar 5 2010, 08:16 PM) planning to get the z2300 by this weekend, any other suggestion around RM500++ speaker??? dont care 2.1 or 5.1, thanks in advance... i like bass and clear sound. Edifier R501,Altec Lansing MX5021if you are gonna buy the z2300 be prepared as there is ridiculous amount of bass and poor quality satellites speakers that means you'll require a good soundcard to increase the performance of the z2300 |

So far i am very satisfied with the speakers, alot of bass(can reduce it) and can shake your roof, literally! hahamy cheap ass sub can shake the ceiling I wonder what will happen if the z2300 is in my room sure runtuh lol |

the main reason why big ass subs are built is to create deep bass that normally can't be heard
but because it has side effects like shake the house, that's one problem |
