well that actually depends. some room have different feedback of sound. personally i can only notice the bass is more boomy in smaller rooms compared to big one. i just moved into a new room and i need to spend time to relocate my subwoofer several times before it gives the best sound it can in this room.

if you're not so particular about bass, i think mid and treble and not as sensitive to room acoustic.

Need some help guys, looking to get a new set of speakers after being served by my VS4121 for 6 years or so. Currently looking at a few choices around the 200 - 300 ish range.

Picked out the Altec Lansing VS4621, Edifier M3300SF, Edifier HCS2330 and Creative Gigaworks T20.

Would just like to know the best choice for my everyday gaming, music and sometimes movies + anime.

I need some feedback as I'll most probably be buying from fellow forummers here in LYN so testing is out of the question. I'm not very fussy when it comes to sound. As long as the sound quality is decent then I'm fine with it.

I'm currently leaning towards the T20 though...

T20 is probably the best among that list.

i m also looking for new 2.1 speakers. i tried to check a few reviews for few models & i remove few models such as logitech z523 etc...coz some people say its not as good for the money.

now in my list is:

altec lansing vs4121
edfier c3
edifier hcs2330
edifier c2 plus
edifier p3080m

dont really know which to get...edifier c3 is actually quite expensive. & i couldnt find anyone in lowyat selling c2 plus.

is the edifier c3 really good as they say? hcs2330 also dosent look bad & price is quite good. any suggestions/ideas?

soundstick III? Its a good speaker and produce nice detail sound but not too gud if u wanna some nice sound with strong bass..
I dont mean it dont have god base but moderate..
You could get S530 if u really tight on budget..
I've consider between S530 and S730 but i've decide to Add my budget because i dont buy speaker always.
I'v use M3300SF now and regret why i dont add budget and get C3..

I'm thinking to sell M3300SF off and get S530 but i scare after a while i might regret why i dont get the S730..

=D thx dude, but not going for 5.1, as for bass, i feel Aego M's bass sufficient and accurate. so i dun think i nid a S750~
anyway sound stick is a good choice if within my budget =D

the stock speakers are nice sounding compared to the rest

after re-cap mods, t20 is your best bet!

heh, your neighbours not gonna be happy with all that banging distortions from s730... for that price to volume to quality ratio, i would rather bank in on a SONY from carrefour, at least it has bigger better SONY speakers and ELNA capacitors inside, STOCK!!!

The hcs2330 = the c2 plus if I'm not wrong.

I just got back from Jayacom HQ at Plaza Imbi and I tested most of the speakers you mentioned in the list as I was looking for one myself in that price range.

Initially I was leaning towards the Gigaworks T20 from Creative so I tested it first, but to my disappointment it seemed underpowered. Sound quality was superb but unfortunately at only 28 watts its severely underpowered. Even at max volume it was still too soft for me.

Don't bother with the Edifier hcs2330 or the c3. Very very very disappointing bass. If you are the sort of person with a slight appetite for some bass then the Edifiers are definitely not for you.

The VS4121 is great as I've been using it for 6 years and I can definitely vouch for it.

I ended up buying a VS4621, Octane 7 in the end. Sounded the most decent among the lot I've tried. Well at least to me.

If you got the money to burn I'd suggest the Aego M or the Creative T3. But if your budget restricts you to perhaps the models you just mentioned I'd pick the 4121 or a 4621.

Go try them for yourself if you want to be sure though. Not everyone has the same taste when it comes to sound.

sadly you've missed out Edifier S330D
it surely do packs bass punch

yes tried S530D and S730D just now, but disappointed its kinda all rounded in every aspect but not attractive.
after edifier i go and try the a bit ugly altec lansing MX6021, the range of this speaker is excellent, but if u tune the bass a bit large it will get bassy treble is excellent but there a bit weak in mid. kinda attractive to me for the sound but downside is the design ><. next will be the Aego M, yea as usually the bass kinda weak among all but its mid and high is really attractive enough although some songs on this speaker will disappoint most of the ppls, but if not a bass head kaki this is a good choice.

anyway i still havent decide yet, i wish to have more input and recommandation on others model.

as for the sound stick III i havent got a chance to test it yet, anyone know where can i test it out around PJ ?

A bit out of budget. hence didn't look for it Am listening with the Octane 7 now. Sounds awesome, decent sound quality and great bass, sufficient enough for me as I'm not too fussy when it comes to sound. I don't know if its my sound card that is enhancing the sound quality right now as well or what but overall great set of speakers. Well at least to my tastes and standards.

Lots ppl here recommend Edifier P3060, but i ask most seller at LYN dont have stock, so i want to ask what other suggestion for me
or should i go for P3080M ( i dont like the design actly ) just for USB input

thanks for the reply...hehe thought i wont be getting a reply in here. but i try reading some reviews people say the mid speaker sound is going on the surface so the sound is a bit muddy for the mid range speakers? do u feel anything?

have u try the edifier P3080M too? i will go & test it maybe soon....so i think my main target will be the vs4621....but will see other models too...
