Guyz,

Sad to say that Papago X5 is not compatible with Android 2.2.

I agree with greypj.
There is no proof that the conflict between MFM and papago is being resolved. And dont believe people who say it is going to be resolved without any basis.

Try google brut google maps navigation instead. Its not offline but it works.

Hi

Currently I have the original x5 android installed in my hero 1.5 which I got it from m3asia.

Want to check if I do a OTA 2.1 firmware upgrade, do I need to reinstall my papago x5? Or no action needed?

Thanks!

Hi All! Papago X5 does work on 2.1. It is working on my HTC Magic with Legend ROM now.

The CD box that I bought it in, stated supports only 1.1/1.5 so mine is the old version. But I got a new DVD from m3asia, and it worked flawlessly like it did on 1.5, copy Navi into SD card, and install the apk from the web.

Yay! Now I can use 2.1!

Hi,
Am using the Papago M6 on N1 and notice that the navigation voice prompt (mandarin or english) has a *clap* sound after each sentence, e.g. turn left *clap* then turn right *clap*. Is this normal? Can the *clap* be removed?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
A follow-up on my previous post. I am now using the M7 and still having the same problem with navigation voice, attached is the link to the recording I've made. Note the *clap* sound during the pauses in between the voice.

Anyone running M6 or M7 on the Nexus One having the same issue and can provide a solution? Thanks in advance.

edit - problem solved.

To all users of papago navigation devices and softwares.

It has been 3 months since the last release. Some say mfm will never release it. So in order to prove that my words are of quality, please click on the link below to install the newly made fresh papago map.

http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8567

and post your beta map feedbacks here

http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8565&start=0

juz copy over all the files and back up the old one.

a beta map has been launched for all to enjoy and to shut those up who only talks shit and knows shit saying mfm will never or wont be producing papago maps.

Alright since you gave me an assurance that it will in fact work. I will buy it but before that, there is few last question in mind which i hope you dont mind answering. Please bear in mind that i have been a long term user of Mobile XT and is only forced to migrate to Papago because of Android, so i am really skeptical of software other than garmin. You know what i mean. smile.gif

1. How are the details of the maps/POI compared to the Garmin counterpart of MFM? (Comparing the same dated map of course, since papago MFM is last updated at April)
2. How easily searchable are the addresses? On Mobile XT, it's very very easy. I hope it is the same on Papago.
3. Is it in english by default? Because i can't read chinese.
4. Is there a pinch zooming support (multitouch)?
5. What are the 2 downfall you mentioned, i know it's nothing major but still i'm curious?
6. What actually cause the MFM Papago to be suspended? Are you confident that it will be resumed? I don't care when, just as long as it will be back. I just want some re-assurance so i won't buy this software only to head into dead end of map updates.

Thanks in advance!

@gzero, my assurance to u on Q6 is now proven. no need to thank me. thank mfm instead.

make sure u backup the previous map folder before updating to current one. although its beta, some minor changes will be applied to the next release and then some major changes. enjoy.
