All this while I thought X5 for 1.5 only
M6 and M7 for 2.0 and 2.1.

Now buntut says X5 can be used for 2.1 also?
Wow so confusing.

I think this file can be used for android 2.1. its the X5.1
http://www.papago.com.tw/andsea/

Not sure whether to buy because
1)MFM no longer update papago maps
2)Wonder if it will support froyo

If can test first then buy would be nice. I dont stay near the M3 shop.

I believe that that link provides just the X5 app for your phone. But need the maps. I think this is where we need M3 to go to m3.
Not very sure cause my first android phone and I'm searching for a good gps app.

I installed the brut navigation. I read somewhere that even if you can save the maps to sd, it can only be used for the brut maps and not for navigation.

I agree with greypj.
There is no proof that the conflict between MFM and papago is being resolved. And dont believe people who say it is going to be resolved without any basis.

Try google brut google maps navigation instead. Its not offline but it works.

could anyone share how ti update map in papago x5.1 android as i extracted whole folder from mfm and copy into map folder, it cant be detected.

can it co-exist with the other map with different folder name?

those files i extracted are R21.... but existing are R51..... is it correct?

Try this way,

Replace all the contents from your MFM folder on your computer to the NaviSEA-Maps-MALAYSIA.

no, it cant, either i see 2 100415 maps if i duplicate the folder and copy the content into second folder. or if i replace the 1 folder, it will still see 100415 only coz there are both R21 and R51 in the folder.
could you tell me which particular file i need to retain in the MALAYSIA folder so that i could copy the new map files into it?

I heard this way works so if it doesnt work for you hopefully someone else can help.
Run the MFM-PPG-C100415a from mfm website.
It will make a folder named MFM.
Copy all the contents of this folder and replace the one in NaviSEA-Maps-MALAYSIA on your android.
Dont make a duplicate, just replace all the files.
In the end you should have a folder named MALAYSIA with the contents replaced by the contents of MFM.

Sadly my SGS keeps losing satellite lock.

thanks for trying to help, i'm actually trying to update C100716B which is the latest beta version, is the above procedure still the same but seem like i cant have it work.
btw, the one downloaded are having files of R21xxxxxx, while the one in MALAYSIA are R51xxxxxx, how to replace them?

You must have selected the wrong option during installation.

1)start MFM-PPG-C100415a
2)Select the language - English -OK
3)Click Next
4)I accept the agreement - next
5)Select the directory you want it bo be installed then next
6)SELECT PAPAGO X5 for ANDROID ......NOT m3gps papago X3/X5
then just select next then install then you should see R51.
