Was at Peninsula Plaza Singapore yesterday, the 1460 8 hole made in UK is S$269. The lady boss said why buy such expensive shoes when the shoes can only last a few years ... i just kept quiet smile.gif

yea gave up on malaysia. gonna make a trip to singapore just for the shoes. friend said shop there was much better than here. and these shoes last forever. i guess the for life versions will survive a nuclear bomb attack.

by the way, anybody know where to get these?

Strongly agree with this statement. Go to SG if you want the good stuff. Even Timberland (supposely reputable brand), those that are bought in Malaysia last max = 3 years. I have one Timberland boots made in Portugal, bought from London, sudah 14 tahun, still in excellent condition.

Malaysia Tak Boleh!

as the owner, she just wants you to buy more shoes from her.

TBH, i would still prefer the vintage 1460 8 hole.

There's a pair of Crazy Horse on eBay... quite cheap but ending soon

http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/DR-MARTENS-ORIG...=item4cfaadcbca

Had several pairs of DMs since mid 90s. A few pairs stolen, a pair accidentally left at UK, only one pair left. Looks like a crazy horse but with padded collar. Bought used for 30 pounds at Camden Market London.

found an original Made in England pair in my old storage since the 90s. checked the condition and it's still sturdy as a horse! bet those made in china ones wouldn't last this long.
only worn it a few times cuz it was too big for me and I forgot about it till now haha.
