hi, i just come across this thread, as mentioned that the uk ones have the VDM sole while the china ones have the DLM sole, can i know what is the differences between these two types of sole?

also it was mentioned that uk ones have a harder leather and china and thailand ones have a softer leather, will the softer ones be more comfortable? or the harder ones will offer better durability?

Go for the VDM sole. It is better quality I thimk.

If you plan to, only buy from legit sites. Such as ASOS or Office.co.uk.

did the VLM last for a longer time? as i read the wikipedia, Dr. martens made shoes in thai and china after 2003, so i guess mostly now in the market is the DLM sole then?

some other brand are using sole like the vibram, aztez and more, how are those compare to each other?


out of topic, something like the yellow part of a badminton sport shoes are lasting, but they easily slip on wet surfaces...

just went to pertama and campbell to see again, the 1641 cost rm399 retail, and 1640 rm 499 retail. is it a good price to buy?

and also i found 1 other with steel toe, but inside it is written non safety shoes

bro, the guaranteed "for life" is differnent range of DM and only appilicable in UK, terms n conditions apply.
if those made in China Thai DM r lifetime warranty Dr.martens will go bankrupt.

in the web it says the for life 1640 and 1641 are made in thailand


only british ppl can get the warranty?


in the us web 1641 is 130 usd, but in the uk web 1641 is 120 pound sterling


if converted to ringgit should be more than rm400 right? haven't include the postage and possible tax


or malaysia dealer import direct from thai so should be cheaper? some forrumer mentioned 1641 around 350++ is consider overpriced? what range of price is consider ok?

those prices they charge r fair since those guy have overhead.

the martens sold at solewhat look different from the ones i saw in singapore and online. could be my own opinion but the texture and shine is just not right.

is it possible to be fake?

or just difference due to production batch?

those guys @ pertama & campbell r very firm with their prices. They only give 10% disc.

YAY! finally got meself a a pair of DMs. sg wang plaza, footrest. RM419. No discount. but managed to grab freebies from them. polish and brush.

Was at Peninsula Plaza Singapore yesterday, the 1460 8 hole made in UK is S$269. The lady boss said why buy such expensive shoes when the shoes can only last a few years ... i just kept quiet
