maybe u can go for bendix brand...
i dont think bosch is good enough...
compare price, of course cheaper but quality, im not too sure..
since urs is 1.3, u can always use manual gears to shift down without using much of ur brake pad...
most of my friend driving manual always do tat..
but i never drive a manual after getting my licence... so im not too sure about it

engine braking is ok if you know when to stop the car (eg traffic lights). but is totally useless during emergencies, and it is a risk to use during spirited driving as the weight transfer is hard to predict.

question to AT drivers - how do you make the car accelerate suddenly for over-taking? i rarely drive AT, but sometimes i drive other's cars... during highway when i wanna overtake cars, the car doesnt provide enough torque to overtake, unless i step the pedal all the way down. but even like this, it takes about 1-2 seconds before the car's AT downshifts. is there a better way? thanks

QUOTE(shinjite @ Nov 16 2009, 01:44 AM)
I know its a serious problem but it made me so mad because I did servicing for the rear left brake like a lot of times within a year

1st by maddriver, then okay for a while, kena again, then did the service again at a workshop near mah place, okay, then struck again, then did again the service to both rear calipers to ensure both sides are working properly then couple of months down the road, the rear left jammed again

Its always the rear left, bloody crap!!!
*
why dont you just replace the calipers once and for all? dont joke around when it comes to brakes, bro...

Its the same with any car, engine braking is one technique to help slow down the car, no matter you using manual or auto, it can be applied

Cheeann, that day you told me that my car gain additional weight when you were pushing my car back and forth for the alignment, I found out the answer for you. My rear left brake jammed again.....when you take out the wheel, don't you feel its hot or burning smell?

I suspect its the whole damn caliper problem, since I did caliper service three times to it over 1 year...Siensss

to force the AT do downshift for overtaking, just push the stick from 'D' to '2' lo (1.5 AT), but be careful on the speed you are running.. let say you're at 120kmh, you cant do a downshift for 1.5 AT wira.. the '2' is out of range already, rpm way high.

eh can shift the AT stick while driving one ah? i usually dare not shift in case i break something.
i only shift the stick when the car is not moving doh.gif
but just in case, if i shifted from D to 2 while moving 120kph, what will happen?
i asking coz i sometimes drive AT of other cars also... better i know than regret ma, thanks

can shift the AT stick de.. i always do downshift when taking corners (ppl advise me not to do la.. but.. whistling.gif who cares laugh.gif )
shifting at 120kph is like shifting manual gear from 2nd gear to 1st gear at 40kmh.. rpm damn high, and over rev.
a better AT gearbox (more fuel efficient) is those 1.6 de, got overdrive (4 speed). but that gearbox easily spoilt if maintenance is not done and ATF is cincai use. sure die..

If I'm tailgating and wanting to overtake, it won't accelerate much. What I do is, I accelerate earlier in middle lane and overtake tongue.gif

I'll shift to gear 2 if kph below 60 to overtake. Sometimes I push to 75 kph in gear 2.

I'm not sure this is correct method, but while driving from 0 kph, I start from gear 2 to accelerate faster until reaches 60-70 kph then shift to D. But if down shift from D to 2, I waited until 30-40 kph.

As soon as possible bro~~
Guess thats what causing the vibrations besides the broken driveshaft ~_~

Now scared to drive mah car adi, vibrations are annoying

Added on November 16, 2009, 10:36 amLast time for my auto, 120km/h-130km/h estimated near redline liao
So normally take corners, brake plus downshifting to 2 around 120km/h

Because not over redline so engine no problems, just scared GB nia, but touch wood before even change to manual, all okay biggrin.gif

wah it seems AT can be "played" also rclxms.gif i didnt know, i always thought AT means you cannot play with the stick while driving doh.gif
you all familiar with the AT ratio, can do all those "downshift" but i think i still dare not la, some more not my own car. later the GB pecah i dunno need to rob which bank to pay the owner sweat.gif some more, something embarassing... i always only drive in D when i drive AT cars blush.gif coz dunno what the 1, 2 or other things means (basic ones like P N and R i know la of coz)

Since Wiras are using old Mitsu AT boxes which utilises mostly the first 3 gears for top speed, make it this way

L gear till 60km/h, 2nd till 120km/h and 3rd till 180km/h means 60+60+60

Use that as a reference so when downshifting, make sure its around that speed first.

For mah previous 4 speed AT, L gear can go till 70km/h, 2nd till 120-130km/h, 3rd is 185km/h. But do it at ur own risk, I am not responsible for any damaged auto boxes in the future biggrin.gif

Nahh, just use D for casual drive is ok. But if you want more pick up, start with 2 then shift to D later biggrin.gif

Really that high ah ? I do not dare to even try, and I don't recommend either sweat.gif As for me, L for low gear if on very steep hill, or if I want to start accelerate quicker. e.g at junctions, trying to accelerate faster to cope with traffic flow speed. Otherwise, I just start off with 2 until 60-70 kph then go on D, depends on road gradients.

Yup its really that high~~because only 3 gears for playing, so the ratios are longer. Manual have shorter ratios hence the faster acceleration but nowadays with 7 speed AT and double clutch AT GBs, slow acceleration for auto is a thing of the past. Oh and better install a AT GB oil cooler to prolong your AT GB's lifespan. Most auto GB KO because overheat~~

my wira was initially a 1.5AT, so i knows lo.. can drive max 165kmh, can go up genting too.. but the AT stick get hot when i reach the top.
D=Drive (normal drive, use all the 3 gears)
L=Low gear (utilise 1st gear only)
2=2nd gear (utilise max to 2nd gear only)
R=Reverse loh..

My AT shifting points sucks.. thats why i use L, 2, and D very frequently.
if i terus use D, 3rd gear will engage at 40~50kmh. really shyt... no power. no torque.

The GB TCU is using fuzzy logic and it depends on how much you press on the accelerator

I dare to try, but of course with deep pocket just in case something happened. If something wrong with GB, then pokai whole month cry.gif And one more thing, it is because I read the car manual, what is the max speed for each gear tongue.gif

Actually D for all just fine. Some like to accelerate faster, AT also hand itchy to change gear, like me (but still cannot drive MT, leg very slow on balancing clutch). I'm driving 1.5, since only 3 gears, L is like 1st gear, 2 is 2nd, D 4th onwards. I use L rarely since it is locked to down shift. If you shift from 2 to D at 3rd gear speed, then it accelerate slow. So what you can do is, push 2 higher, reaching 3rd gear speed then shift D, it will go faster. Perhaps you can try shinjite speed range brows.gif

now tat is very informative, thanks!
so L only utilize the lowest gear? wah... genting climbing smile.gif
so wira 1.6 AT has "3" also la? hmm.gif
