It seems that after all this time, my brake left side already jammed and is only a matter of time for the tire to stuck from rotating. That's why I always here the rough sound, sometimes screeching. Now ok already.

QUOTE(e30 @ Nov 14 2009, 11:07 PM) what are the other signs of brake jam? my left hand side brakes are screeching when i'm driving (not even braking).. and the lefthand side is producing a tremendous amount of brake dust compared to the right. what must be changed to get it fixed? Get it checked first. I thought my brake pads already worn out, but it is because of brake jammed. The tire will be difficult to rotate, very heavy. While still able to move, get it checked. Otherwise later if your tire get stuck while driving, dangerous woo |

QUOTE(kazami @ Nov 16 2009, 01:21 AM) maybe u can go for bendix brand... Liking the last statement. Same goes for me i dont think bosch is good enough... compare price, of course cheaper but quality, im not too sure.. since urs is 1.3, u can always use manual gears to shift down without using much of ur brake pad... most of my friend driving manual always do tat.. but i never drive a manual after getting my licence... so im not too sure about it |

QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 16 2009, 08:50 AM) engine braking is ok if you know when to stop the car (eg traffic lights). but is totally useless during emergencies, and it is a risk to use during spirited driving as the weight transfer is hard to predict. If I'm tailgating and wanting to overtake, it won't accelerate much. What I do is, I accelerate earlier in middle lane and overtake question to AT drivers - how do you make the car accelerate suddenly for over-taking? i rarely drive AT, but sometimes i drive other's cars... during highway when i wanna overtake cars, the car doesnt provide enough torque to overtake, unless i step the pedal all the way down. but even like this, it takes about 1-2 seconds before the car's AT downshifts. is there a better way? thanks why dont you just replace the calipers once and for all? dont joke around when it comes to brakes, bro... QUOTE(wailup @ Nov 16 2009, 09:17 AM) to force the AT do downshift for overtaking, just push the stick from 'D' to '2' lo (1.5 AT), but be careful on the speed you are running.. let say you're at 120kmh, you cant do a downshift for 1.5 AT wira.. the '2' is out of range already, rpm way high. I'll shift to gear 2 if kph below 60 to overtake. Sometimes I push to 75 kph in gear 2.Added on November 16, 2009, 9:19 am fit in rear disc brake liao lo..! QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 16 2009, 09:23 AM) cheeann, that is not a weakness la I'm not sure this is correct method, but while driving from 0 kph, I start from gear 2 to accelerate faster until reaches 60-70 kph then shift to D. But if down shift from D to 2, I waited until 30-40 kph.anyway, the moment u said u cant smell, u know i remembered who? this cute guy from my favourite comic when i was little... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « eh can shift the AT stick while driving one ah? i usually dare not shift in case i break something. i only shift the stick when the car is not moving but just in case, if i shifted from D to 2 while moving 120kph, what will happen? i asking coz i sometimes drive AT of other cars also... better i know than regret ma, thanks |

QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 16 2009, 10:48 AM) wah it seems AT can be "played" also Nahh, just use D for casual drive is ok. But if you want more pick up, start with 2 then shift to D later you all familiar with the AT ratio, can do all those "downshift" but i think i still dare not la, some more not my own car. later the GB pecah i dunno need to rob which bank to pay the owner QUOTE(shinjite @ Nov 16 2009, 11:02 AM) Since Wiras are using old Mitsu AT boxes which utilises mostly the first 3 gears for top speed, make it this way Really that high ah ? I do not dare to even try, and I don't recommend either L gear till 60km/h, 2nd till 120km/h and 3rd till 180km/h means 60+60+60 Use that as a reference so when downshifting, make sure its around that speed first. For mah previous 4 speed AT, L gear can go till 70km/h, 2nd till 120-130km/h, 3rd is 185km/h. But do it at ur own risk, I am not responsible for any damaged auto boxes in the future |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Nov 16 2009, 11:17 AM) Yup its really that high~~because only 3 gears for playing, so the ratios are longer. Manual have shorter ratios hence the faster acceleration but nowadays with 7 speed AT and double clutch AT GBs, slow acceleration for auto is a thing of the past. Oh and better install a AT GB oil cooler to prolong your AT GB's lifespan. Most auto GB KO because overheat~~ I dare to try, but of course with deep pocket just in case something happened. If something wrong with GB, then pokai whole month afosz: You don't dare to try, you wouldn't know, thats the difference QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 16 2009, 11:18 AM) Actually D for all just fine. Some like to accelerate faster, AT also hand itchy to change gear, like me (but still cannot drive MT, leg very slow on balancing clutch). I'm driving 1.5, since only 3 gears, L is like 1st gear, 2 is 2nd, D 4th onwards. I use L rarely since it is locked to down shift. If you shift from 2 to D at 3rd gear speed, then it accelerate slow. So what you can do is, push 2 higher, reaching 3rd gear speed then shift D, it will go faster. Perhaps you can try shinjite speed range |

Just tried driving using 2 but I can only stand until 80 kph, then shift to D. Maybe it just my way of driving, not used of the sound of high rpm.
Btw wanted to ask my brake pedal. It seems that I need to press more to feel the brake. The pedal is like a bit loosen. I can press half and still move. It slows down, but between braking and moving ratio, it moves more. |

The thing is that, I've changed brake fluid already along with brake pad last Saturday due to my brake jammed. All new. Then how ?

QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 17 2009, 08:52 AM) p/s: dont understand why ppl still think that "lady owner" for a car ad means the car is in better condition than a "male owner"? Lady owner always referred to in good condition I assume, considering the interior and exterior wise still nice like brand new. In term of maintenance wise, well I do agree with your statement. Mostly, not all, only knows to drive and go. When something goes wrong, just send to workshop and pay. Enough mileage, go service. If something broken or damaged, common statement heard "Eh that day already service".i think lady owner tend to forget to do servicing. example, almost all the "lady owners" i know, they start the engine immediately and drive off, never warm up the engine first (unless they wait inside car put make-up). that is why sometimes i think "lady owner" can mean a badly maintained car. wat do u guys think? QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 17 2009, 09:10 AM) Yup, P is for parking |

Eh no one answered mine yet regarding brake pedal. It is a bit loosen, like pressing half way then only feel the brake. Btw new brake pads and new brake fluid.

I spend on new phone, hoping I didn't have to use the money for anything this month. But then, who knows my car got problem, so repair here and there have to loan from parents
End of month salary payback, and send car to servicing. |
