plucking without nails means no projection and thats fine if you are playing for your own enjoyment. for performance it wouldnt work well cos the sound can't cut throught the other instruments if it is too soft.

I still play classical guitar with my soft nails, I think I just need to pluck the strings harder, it should be ok. I'm not going for stage performance. I just play for myself and for my friends.

That would be good then. Nails are only for real performers IMHO.

Find a friend that can teach you. they'll teach you how to hold and how to get hold of the strumming patterns. for starters, maybe try to learn how to strum a few songs. just a couple of chords will do. smile.gif

I can't remember what was the first strumming song I learnt, but my first plucking song was Romance d Amour (1st part).

do you have friends that plays guitar? it helps to have friends giving guidance.

note: i learnt from friends abit abit. then i self learn for 2 years. and now i'm going for formal classes.

hmmm maybe you are not absorbing the calcium.... do you have sufficient vit D intake?
if the nails are very soft and if there are abberations on the nail itself like ridges, white spots etc it could be indicative of some underlying chronic condition. if healthwise you feel you are alright then get hold of a collagen supplement otherwise a general medical checkup would be in order.

second from your right. smile.gif I must said we all are abit confuse as no one has been on TV before and recording live on TV is so much different playing on stage. The performance has not up to our normal standard. we hope we can do better on NTV7 tommorrow. (still waiting for confirmation though)

Thanks for watching.
