different kind of woods blush.gif I don't know anything about those, since I'm just going to start learning guitar.
Anyway, which of the stated wood is the best?

I'm aware that there is a difference with classical and acoustic guitar. What I want is a acoustic one, not a classical oneĀ  nod.gif

If you are a beginner, even kapok brand you'll be satisfy as long as you never play any guitar that is more expensive.. Even I am not really suite to be call a beginner, i'm gonna buy a classical guitar (forgot what brand) that only rm350..

as long as you comfortable with it, go for it.. You are not going to enter any classical guitar competition are you? (even rm7000 guitar can't certainly make you win)

Good acoustic guitar cheaper than good classical guitar.. With your budget, I don't think you'll be facing problems..

Added on June 2, 2011, 6:34 pmDays I have been waiting.. Nobody wanna add anything in this thread? Where's all classical guitar players?

Does CGS m'sia plan to organize a malaysia classical guitar competition?
Guitar Collection cancelled their 2nd malaysia classical guitar competition event this year due to the number and quality of participants failed to meet their expectation. The 1st time they organized the competition in year 2009 was a success, there's many good classical guitarist participating, but this year.. haiz doh.gif

CGS is more towards on create interest among the students regardless of playing abilities. Guitar Alive is to provide an opportunity for students to perform in an ensemble group in a proper concert hall, with introduction from an emcee. Beside learning how to play the guitar, learning to perform in front of an audiences is also important part of their education. We believe this activities is more benefit to the students than a competition. (beside if a student didn't learn how to perform, how is he/she going to participate in competition?)

Anyway, if CGS given the resources we wanted, we definitely interest to organize a competition, but unlike Guitar Collection, CGS is not a business entities (which mean we are not as "re$ourceful" as Guitar Collection tongue.gif).

BTW, are you interest in organized your students for an ensemble performance? CGS also having its annual Guitar Festival & Camp 2011 on 9-11 December 2011, the details is not out yet, but the date is fixed, are you interest to send your students to join us? I hope you could join us this year, come and see what we are doing, If you are interested, please PM me . Thank you. smile.gif

Old klang road? Did you mean jalan klang lama? Cmon now.. We are not suppose to translate names.. I can confuse with that.. Sorry dude, no offense.. Or perhaps old klang road is another place?

There is a guitar shop in PJ, near jalan othman, at the back of 7E, why don't you check it out.. The owner is very friendly and maybe you can have more info there..

Went to watch Guitar Alive classical guitar concert for the first time last sunday @ MTC Jalan Ampang. Overall it was ok, just that too many 'Lightly Row' makes me yawn.gif . I was sitting at the 4rd row on the left, when I listen to the concert, is it just me, I think the volume is a little bit low even there's 10 people playing in a group, maybe the mic put too far from the guitar?

Hi, thanks for your support of the event, how come didn't come out and say hello to me? smile.gif

This year is a bit unusual, normally we only have 2 groups play the same piece. Our purpose is to give everyone a chance in performing in a proper concert even for beginner, and there are not many beginner ensemble pieces around.

Anyway I will take note of what you said here and hope to improve it next years.

Hope you can join our camp also. Thanks.
