FRIM RIDES THIS WEEKEND----------Looks like it's gonna be packed with Riders.....
ps: contact numbers below belong to PCC and PBH riders.

PCC FRIM RIDE
Date: 8 November 2009
Start time: 730am
Distance: 20 km
Starting Point: Sg Buloh Lepersy Hospital Car park.
Getting There: Google Map Sungai Buloh Hospital. Or if you are lazy, click this link here.
GOOGLE MAP LOCATION-FRIM,
Ride description: For a fit beginner as the initial climb to the top can be tiring. However the rest of the ride is quite easy with nice fast flowing trails. Do be wary of hikers, as they have right of way. Fast speed “ride bys” may seem fun to you, but it’s not that great for them, so do slow down and letthem know you are passing by. Remember Murphy’s Law, kids will always jump into the path of your bike...and they will normally do it under your braking distance. So take special note on this as there are loads of them there.
Contact person: Adrian (012 383 2618) / Alvin (012 3070830)

PUCHONG BIKE HASH
Destination : FRIM
Date : 8th November 2009
Meetup 1: Corner Mamak, beside Maybank, Bandar Puchong Jaya (Opposite IOI Mall) at 7.00 am
Meetup 2: Main Gate FRIM at 8.15am
Riding start : 8.30am
Trail : XC / Trail
Distance : 15km
Duration : 2 Hours Estimate
Note : Helmet is compulsory
Contact : Seng (012-397 8568), Kit (019-788 7611)

hi, wanna ask, can i change my bike grip gear shifter to user posted image

do i need to remove the brakes or anything? and estimate, how much would it cost? thanks
*
Hi, you can change provided your grip shifter is 9-speed. And.. the retail price is around RM 87 on each side.

You will need to remove the brake levers and grips in order to install it. Make sure the distance is well balanced on each side.

Anybody using Holux GPSports 245? Accurate or not ar?
My colleagues are using GPSlim240 & GPSlim236B respectively and these modules are quite accurate as they are running on SiRFStarIII high-sensitivity chipset. Do check with the retailer if the GPSport is using the same chipset.

Can... then you can ride it like a Harley Davidson..heehehe tongue.gif
Seriously... Anthem's designed around 100mm... of course you can fit bigger travel but that just ruin things. If big travel's your thing, might as well opt for a Trance or even a Reign from the beginning.
Ehem, ehem... I smell something... black and white with 4-inch travel... ehem brows.gif

Someone "might" change to longer-travel frame soon... so... the current Maestro might be on sale... woohoo.

Bro Sniper, just to share with you that I found the following site...
The Anthem can also be mod to become singletrack/trail bike when you use slightly longer fork for the frame. I think can hor? Should be cool for long distance XC riding.

Like some of those brain damaged folks in some forums taking big drops on el cheapo XC fork and then calling the product rubbish because it couldn't take a 10foot drop.
Agreed. I like this statement above +1 thumbup.gif (sorry to those jokers...) tongue.gif

2nd hand RM1500 ok or not for this bike  sad.gif
You can get it roughly around RM 1.1k - RM 1.3k for a used Alite 1000 depending on the speed(8 or 9), drivetrain/fork condition and type of disc brakeset being offered. (Just my opinion, yeah)

A BRAND NEW Gary Fisher Opie is being offered around these prices:-
1) RM1.2k (with 8speed & V-brakes)
2) RM1.4K (with 8speed & Disc brakes)
3) RM1.6k (with 9speed & Disc brakes)

Do compare with equivalent brand new units if you think that the second hand price is a bit high. Look also for Jamis Trail-X series. smile.gif

I do not need people to poison me. My requirement is very low as compared to others. So, I have my own style of preventive maintenance(parts replacement) for my bike. Most importantly for myself is... enjoy riding without damaging wallet, hehe. biggrin.gif
