wah, steep switchbacks. i confirm fail la. hahaha.
bike still work in progress, see la when wanna go there. haha. xandman, get platform pedals. no need cleats. ur clipless pedal keep for FRIM rides. kiara better use platforms until u have to confidence and skill to clip and unclip fast, or better, skill to never fall down. |

cleat means clipless, ur shoes got cleat, clip on to pedal. clip like cage, slip ur toe in, nobody use for mtb, platform is like flat with pins on it.
use platform, like the pictures tim posted. or just go to bike shop ask for platform/flat pedals, then choose la. want more grip, get one with lots of pins, can adjust pin length. if want lighter just ask for lighter la. as with all bike related items, lighter=more expensive. lol. |

normal pedal -> platform pedal
i suggest u dont use clip for mbt unless some serious XC else you better get full face helmet, body armor and limb pad to use with clip. This post has been edited by chamelion: Oct 26 2009, 02:11 PM |

QUOTE(xandman @ Oct 26 2009, 02:32 PM) #1 cleat, clipless pedal#2 platform/flat, not clipless clip is the toe clip, like cage at the front, can see on some exercise bikes. useless for road or mtb, nobody using, cannot find at bike shop also. it is abit confusing though, with clipless u have to clip in and out, dunno why its called clipless also i might be wrong though. lol. QUOTE(ober @ Oct 26 2009, 02:37 PM) see 1st la. have a problem with leaning into a switchback while going downhill. fear of toppling i guess. lol |

so xandman got himself an Anthem ha....X1, X2 or X3??? and whre's the pron pics??
Oh ya, i joined the Ride with CM (chief minister) ride event yesterday....did a 50km ride...was fun n nice weather...overall there's 3 caterogies 80km round island (penang), 50 km beginner to moderate and the 12km family rides...total registered riders around 1083 and the turnups should be around 90%. What a nice n successful event. Anyone here participated?? On my Anthem, tried to adjust the seatpost for its seat angle...surprised that the angle was unable to adjust....i mean from the looks, it should be able to (got the adjusment nut, got the adjustment gears, etc) but its just jammed...more like accidentally welded already duh... So anyone can recommend a good n nice seatpost that complements the Anthem? I would be looking at saddle too..the ori Velo that comes with it is like sitting on a piece of wood...after yesterday's ride, somehow i thought i can't feel the presence of my balls already. |

Nice seatpost?? Either Thomson or Syntace P6 lor... the Syntace is imho the most adjustable seatpost ever. Can set it up as zero setback or with ~20mm setback. Light, downhill blah blah rated.. and very secure clamping so can also use for saddles with fragile rails. Did not slip as well... in this aspect its better than my previous thomson. ![]() |

I recently bought WTB Rocket-V from BBS. The saddle is nice with curvy design and cushioning is not bad. It helps during my last Saturday's 45km offroad jamboree ride. Maybe you can try if they have one attached to a bike. Saddle is kinda personal. So far, my butt is okay with Velo Gel and Rocket-V. |
