hi...
plan to buy car...
in my mind is myvi..kinda pricey...but heard dat perodua is low maintenance and fuel saver...
i found dis in mudah.com -- > myvi
its kinda cheap compare thn the perodua website -- > Myvi

my question is...
i have a doubt bout proton and perodua...
which is better in term of
- price
- maintenance/servicing
- fuel

what is the procedure to buy a car, as i hv no idea on ths...1st time want to buy...
*
Hmm for 50k the myvi is actually a worthy buy. I bet u should have no problems on maintenance/servicing and fuel economy is pretty decent.

On procedure on buying a car, visit the showroom and the SA will be happily advising u on that. Just make sure u have at max 1/4 of ur salary for the car loan. I always suggest take max 7 years loan at best.

1. Brand :  Hyundai i10 / Hyundai Getz / Naza Picanto / Naza Bestari 206
2. Budget : 35k ~ 50k
3. New/Used/Unreg : New
4. Specs : Preferably full specs
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : No idea
7. Type : 4 doors, small, safe, easy to maintain

Hi.. I am new to this.. Really need advice from all the experts..
I am currently driving a 2nd-hand Kancil..I wish to change a new car asap..
As i do not have much information/knowledge/experience on cars.. It's very hard for me to make any decision on which car i should get..

At first, i've made my decision and already gave booking fee for Naza Bestari 206..and my loan have already approved >.< The problem is.. the SA never give me any receipt or B&W prove..And everytime i called my SA to ask for the car he will be very angry with me..He said to me if i can get the car ask me to find from other dealer then let him know and so on (i dunno..i just feel that he is like scolding me everytime i try to ask him for car  sad.gif ) ..

I have tried to contact other Naza showrooms to ask for the 206, there also telling me there is no more stock for 206..Therefore,i think i should give up on 206 and look for other car instead.. since alot of people i know keep telling me not to take 206 due to a lot of cons such as a face off model, high maintenance, hard to find spare part, gearbox problem, no resell value and etc (i'm so confused with all this  unsure.gif but i really like 206 since i'm in college )

But none of the people i know know anything about buying a car.. as i m a small-size-lady.. i wish to go for small size car.. small car will be easier for me to find parking also..and i only drive for short distance..

Today, i went to test drive Naza Picanto, Hyundai i10 & Hyundai Getz.. All these 3 have its own pro & con..

Naza Picanto:
- The interior is nice and acceptable
- The exterior, so so but aceptable
- Quite comfortable, but the dash board is too high/the seat is too low as the driver seat cannot be shift up/down like myvi
- Came with airbags (abs? i not sure have or not)
- Not really satisfy with the whole folding-rear seat (i prefer the seat that can open either 1-side or 2-side to keep or take thing from the boot from inside the car - for safety reason)
- One relative told me that picanto is very high FC and underpower..is it true?
- Price offered for 1.1EX(A) is $46,800 (My SA said no disc as it is a new launch model). Asked me to book ASAP as it's going to increase by RM700 starting 2010

Hyundai i10:
- The exterior is cute & nice, just don't like the rear
- The interior is nice but less thing compare to picanto. (What is tachometer? is it very important to have for a car? I try to ask the SA but she seems like abit blur blur  sweat.gif )
- During test drive, i feel that the seat was very uncomfortable and less power than my 850cc Kancil
- No airbags or abs (i wish they have as i'm really particular on the safety)
- Heard that i10 is the upgrade version of Atos and have alot of problems..
- Price offered for Auto is $44,588 (w/o airbags), $47088 (with airbags but no stock & don't when will get stock)

Hyundai Getz:
- The exterior is nice and acceptable
- I don't really like the interior as it looks like those old old car's
- Very comfortable and powerful
- Have 1 airbag at driver side
- Price offered for Getz 1.4 is $52,000 (Was told that this car is manufactured in 2008. Therefore they give disc up to $10k +/-)
- Quite over my budget already sad.gif

I really do not know which one to choose, as alot of people i know keep on telling me that these 3 cars have alot of cons  rclxub.gif  Please don't ask me to get Myvi or Viva or Proton. I will never consider either of those.

As i'm not from KL, i do not know much car dealer/showroom in KL. So i only went to 2 Naza showrooms & 1 Hyundai showroom nearby the place i stay. If any of you know any good SA, please do recommend to me. Hope i can get better offer price and service.

Getting a new car supposed to be happy, but i'm feeling so stressed & depressed. no matter which car i chose, everyone is telling me this is no good. this is bad and so for....  doh.gif

Please help!! icon_question.gif

MANY THANKS!!!
*
Naza kinda has a bad reputation on this, so avoid the 206 n picanto if possible.

The getz will be replaced by the i20 from hyundai, unless if u get clearing stock which will be cheaper, then the inokom getz is a good value to buy.

If i were u, i would choose the getz. Just dont regret once the replacement i20 is out, but i think it will be out sometime in 2010.

hello Guys!

i need your help here~

1. Brand : Honda city/Toyota Vios/Suzuki Swift
2. Budget : 45-50k
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : Basic will be enought for me
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : No idea
7. Type : 4 doors, small, safe, easy to maintain, fuel consumption

on a regular basis put 20-30k downpayment,i am looking for getting
2nd hand Honda City or Toyota Vios or Suzuki Swift

recently found that year 2003 Honda city selling Rm46k
2005 vios/city and above will be Rm50k++

A 4-6 year car from now,are worth to getting?
instead getting a new proton?geeee...

advise from others, say that getting honda city are good bcos it has 5 gear and toyota vios only have  4 gear

brother me for the first time purchase car, your greatly advise will be appeciated

Currently Dirving Wira Sedan year 2000
My salary pay are Rm 3k
*
Well, with ur salary then the used city/vios should be fine. Both these cars are reliable and robust even though they aged 5 years and above. For the city from 2002-2007, they using 7 speed CVT gearbox which will be hassle if got problem, so be careful when choosing a used city, suggest u to test drive it.

To be safe, the 2003-2005 vios is a good option, u can get around 40-50k for that. Go for the G spec for additional safety features. Hope this helps smile.gif

Hello guys!

I'm interested in a year 2007 Honda Jazz (i-dsi), and its modified with 16inch rims, GAB suspensions, mugen body kit, with leather seats, and mileage is 60-70k and the tagged price is rm60k.. the owner is a very nice lady..

so, i would like to ask for you guys opinion, is it worth it to buy the car as I'm also thinking of NEO CPS. Thanks guys!

What sort of comparison? One makes sedan cars (proton) while another makes compact hatchbacks (perodua).

That good, but be sure u gave it a test drive before u confirm ur purchase. Check the ride (coz i bet its hard as it uses aftermarket GAB suspension) and the gearbox to see if everything working fine.

But if u looking for a driver's car, the neo CPS is the obvious choice unless if u dont mind the long waiting period.

Hmm 2008 stock when now is end of 2009, not a good sign.

Well if u want small cars why dont u consider myvi or viva? If u dont want perodua, the hyundai i10 is a good option here. Its new and good enough for city driving.

Hi, I'm 22 years old and looking for my first car with budget around 30k-60k auto, planning to use it for maybe 5-10years(of course if suddenly kena toto then it's different story tongue.gif ), the following is the brand & car in my mind.

1)Perodua Myvi Ezi. RM47k
2)Toyota Vios E(2004) Top mark selling RM56k (I think can get around 52k)
3)Honda City (Second hand) around RM50k
4)Saga blm M-line - RM41k
5)Viva Elite 1l, - RM38k

I test drive the myvi, vios, saga and viva(never have opportunity to test drive honda city)
Myvi
I feel the performance is quite ok, but it's too common on road sad.gif

Vios
I feel that the performance is around the same with myvi, just that the engine is more silent, a little bit more spacious. Comfortable wise, it's roughly the same with myvi.

Saga blm
The performance is not really good, the car tend to pickup slower than my expectation, I can't imagine what if it's 10 years old later. Not really like the design and the car engine.

Viva
Actually I think that viva is not bad, but I'm doubt that because of its size and it's not "very suitable" for highway drive, because many people tell me that if a lorry passby you, your viva will feel like "floating".

My question:
1)Will Vios maintenance more than myvi by a lot? Since it's not national car(thus the replacement part will be more expensive) and it's older car.
2)How is 5 years old vios fuel consumption compare to New Myvi?
3)Please recommend me if I missed out any decent car that is within my budget.
4)Is it ok to buy car at end of year or wait until next year january? Since I'll not utilize the car until my next year school started.

My preference:
1)Fuel consumption is a main factor since I foreseen I'll travel quite a lot on highway.
2)Hatchback or sedan is not really my concern since I'm single.
3)Maintenance fees is also one of the main factor.(maybe RM500 per year, I'm not sure since this will be my first car)

My answer:
1) It's a Toyota, maintenance should be less than Myvi. Replacement part will be slightly expensive than a National made.. Not much different for me.
2) I'm not sure about the FC on a VIOS. But a full tank on a MT Myvi can give u 400KM +, an AT give u less mileage (around 350 or less).. But i think VIOS can fetch u a good FC than a Myvi, it has the VVTI technology which can help to save fuel. And it has higher engine displacement than a Myvi, give you more power @ lower rpm compared to MYVI.
3) I think those are the best choice within your budget.
4) I'll prefer to buy a car at the end of year, because car price drops every month/years.

Answer to your preferences:
1) Honda City IDSI give u the lowest FC compare to those on your list.
2) When it's the time, you'll realize that Sedan is far more better than a hatchback. (More spacious, can carry more luggage/thingy, much more stable?)
3) You should prepare at least 1k for a year maintenance fee. IF comes to replace those tyres, you'll definitely needs more than that.

Hmm if u dont mind keeping more than 5-7 years, u wont lose much on resale value although both these cars has poorer resale value compared to perodua or japanese made.

Good thing to buy car now is u will get splendid discounts for end of yr stock. Wont be a concern if u keeping ur car for long. Inokom is actually a decent brand in mysia brand.

FC as main concern, I can think either the vios or city. If u looking for a lower maintainence car, safest best is the vios. The vios has better FC and power than the myvi and its reliable as well.

Not much, the myvi is cheaper in maintenance like 200-300 hundred compared to vios. But since u traveling highway alot, i suggest u get the 2003-2004 spec for 50k++. The E spec using skimy tyres which is abit unsafe on highways unless if u plan to upgrade the tyres.

Hi everyone. I am not sure whether I post it in the right thread (Im new here) but I need advice about this car I'm planning to bring back home from UK. The details are:

1. Brand: 2005 BMW 3 SERIES 320I SE
2. Price: £10k (which is about RM56K)
3. New/Used/Unreg: Used (Year 2005)
4. Specs: Saloon, Petrol, 60,000 miles
5. Transmission: Auto
6. NA or FI ?
7. Type: Saloon with 4doors.

My question is after all the tax for bringing back home is it still a reasonable price? I've done some research about the price in malaysia (same model same year) and it is about 150K (need confirmation on this)..so any comments (or suggestions of better models) are highly appreciated. Thanks all and TS. notworthy.gif

Hi everyone. I am not sure whether I post it in the right thread (Im new here) but I need advice about this car I'm planning to bring back home from UK. The details are:

1. Brand: 2005 BMW 3 SERIES 320I SE
2. Price: £10k (which is about RM56K)
3. New/Used/Unreg: Used (Year 2005)
4. Specs: Saloon, Petrol, 60,000 miles
5. Transmission: Auto
6. NA or FI ?
7. Type: Saloon with 4doors.

My question is after all the tax for bringing back home is it still a reasonable price? I've done some research about the price in malaysia (same model same year) and it is about 150K (need confirmation on this)..so any comments (or suggestions of better models) are highly appreciated. Thanks all and TS.  notworthy.gif

Hi victor87 thanks for ur reply..yup after checking the autotrader I saw some of the 525i that goes around that figure (8k GBP pound) but for tax reason i need to find ones of '05 since the optimum age to bring back regarding the tax is 5 years (will be bringing back third quarter of '10 anyway)..anyway thanks for ur time! maybe ur suggestion will make me change my mind..thanks again! biggrin.gif

Budget 50k doesn't means that I have to use all the money, I still can save the money up for future usage.

The car I'll pick will be based on the overall performance and not the value of the car.
