Hi Guys,

Thinking of buying a 46in LCD or LED TV for my living room. I currently own the Panasonic 50" TH-50PH800Y Plasma TV but the power consumption is too high for daily 15 hours viewing (rated 555W). My budget is between 3k - 3.5k. This TV will be used only to watch Astro Beyond while the Panasonic will be moved upstairs and used in a dedicated home theather setup.

I believe your TV can play through USB. Just check in your manual what format supported.

MKV files support stereo (2channel) and DTS/Dobly (5.1/7.1channel)...
obviously ur TV doesn't support DTS/Dobly but only stereo (2channel)

if u want to play MKV with DTS/Dobly audio format, get a good HTiB or decent AV receiver setup instead...

otherwise get a good media player to down mix the audio from DTS/Dobly to Stereo which the most of TV don't have such capabilities yet...

Thinking to get LG 42LV3500 42-Inch for my Astro HD and SD viewing. Any better choice, for a budget of RM2k? I don't care about 3D, internet TV, etc.

Thanks. I found a better model for the money. Panasonic L42U30 or the plasma version P42U30. Old model, but the spec is good. Full HD, yadayada and only RM1599.

Added on April 3, 2012, 9:44 pmGuys, anyone with Astro/beyond using LG 50PT305? Could you give a little review?

Hi all, new to this topic.
I am looking for 46 inch LED TV. Do not want 3D, but prefer to support internet. I looking at Sony 46 inch EX520 (~RM3300) and Samsung 46 inch D5500 series (~RM3600), Sharp 46 inch LED TV (~RM3200). Both are good to me, I will prefer the Sony for cheaper price, any comment?

Also, so far I know only Toshiba do support RMVB format, but they do not have affordable LED TV 46 inch, any recommendation of other brand that do support RMVB? So far I know, not much brand/model that support RMVB format.
