Ok, i just got offered by SenQ LG 42LV3500 rm1849 and Sony Bravia 42ex410+bdp-380 rm2199, which one should i buy? I am tempted to get the LG one.. but the salesman say LG durability cannot compete with Sony.. i dont buy it anyway.. but i wanna know which gives better quality? Summore LG is Divx HD ready, heard it can play mkv hd files with minimal problem..

i am not really worried about the durability since i think nowadays watever also not very durable because price is too competitive.. having my training back in manufacturing plant before, see how they work and what materials they used, surely cannot last long as before, but they carry down the price, so u pay what you get la in the end. I just wanna know Sony or LG which is better.. Sony is slightly more expensive than LG.. and Sony more reputation.. i mean more popular..

From the review I've read Samsung UA40D5000 is rated above LG, Sony and Panasonic.

yeah, it has the most features... but most expensive among those.. it is like 2.5k for tat one in Miri, and LG selling at 1.8k..

plasma is cheap but consume alot energy.. i see side to side comparison.. plasma have greener grass... and more lively color, panasonic plasma vs its led. But so far sharp color is 1 of the best i've seen, but it is expensive. I am down to sony and lg currently because SenQ got promotion for this two.. still dont know which to buy.. plasma with 3d also cheap..

Which is better: 50PW450 or 42LV3500 in terms of color, dynamic contrast, watching high moving movies/sports, DVD's, etc. Price difference for these 2 models is about RM 650

no idea, i also comparing, but my eyes no good, i think the demo set 42lv3500 they din play full 1080p movie or promotional trailer, not go crisp and sharp. I din really compare much on plasma, because they didnt put all the tv together, they put them brand by brand.. so hard to compare sometimes..

Just went to LG roadshow, was really impressed by their Cinema 3D technology, so less hassle, just like Cinema 3D, no more bulky and expensive glasses, and it is much clearer and have more depth than cinema 3d.. Worth to consider if u are buying 3d tv..

Hmm, i think its ok, since it is the cheapest for now.. I think due to LG having a fair throughout the country.. even in miri their price also cheap.. LG review on 2D quality is good, but i heard that their passive 3d tech downside is image details is inferior to active 3d, but i can confirm is that it looks way better and more depth than what u saw in the cinema.. I now thinking should get got smart TV or non-Smart TV.. i think smart tv can be replaced by those media player.. but in love with those apps and the remote control..

Btw, anyone know how much is the price of LG 47LW6500 and 42LW6500 in KL?

Yeah... but i think la.. the smooth motion thing is very personal... For me, the movie purposely make it very low fps, at just 24fps or 30fps, to create the "movie" effect, why would ppl want to kill off the effect with those fast motion tech? I watched those with very smooth motion one, i felt like vomiting, because it really makes the movie so "life-like", which defeat the purpose of a movie. Movie is shot at low fps have their own reason, it creates some tense very dramatic scenes. If it is always running at high fps, which is created by those smooth motion thingy, it will be like a real-life show, no more feeling.. Like ppl wan B&W effect, why? Because of nostalgic scene, same like that is movie effect.. for movie scene.. But, the smooth motion thingy is very good for live-show, concerts, TV-shows, real-life scene, sports.. It really comes down to personal thinking and preferences. For me, i prefer movie to be movie, not a fake movie smile.gif But i think the effect can be switched off or on la, so it is good if u have the extra money to buy 120hz or 240hz one.. i think for samsung, should go for UA40D5000 instead..

if u are watching hd stuff, better off getting led cos u can get hd resolution instead of 1024x768 on a plasma.. unless u are going for full hd plasma, which should be out of ur budget. i think u can opt lg 42LV3500 in ur choice, not a bad one, around 1.8k, only downside is 60hz only.. If u can live with it, 60hz is good enuf actually. if u wan 120hz, maybe u can go for samsung UA40D5000, i think it is selling for around 2k only..

Just went back from another audition around... Tis time, i went to Courts, because they put mix different brand tv together for much convenience in comparing. This time, i saw samsung, lg led and plasma tv side by side for each brand, i can confirm that plasma have waaaay better color reproduction and accuracy compare to LED tv. The color is so natural and real, like what u see in your own eyes.. LED very bright, and color is very fake.. the skin tone comparing both, the LED skin looks like zombie skin, white and pale, with some bluish tint, while Plasma looks exactly like ur skin smile.gif I was watching asian movie back then. Now i think twice of either getting led 3d or plasma..

now new plasma still got that problem? I think only 1st generation have those kind of issues.. there is also something to wash off the burn in for plasma.. Color can be adjust, but comparing non-adjust plasma and led, plasma is definitely superior, what if plasma also calibrated? Even more superior color. LED very bright, lcd kind of problem.. maybe different ppl different taste.. i still think plasma is a good buy.. but i am madly in love with LG cinema 3d..

I've been researching for a while as well, because I need to budget my home renovation and fitting.

Based on http://www.electricity-usage.com/Electrici...5&HoursPerDay=5
The higher energy consumption doesn't really play that big a part in terms of LED/LCD's selling point.

For 5 hours a day, per year you spend RM120 more on electricity, and that's if you watch TV 5 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Over 10 years its RM1200+- give or take a RM300 for electricity increase.
*
Yeah not really much difference in electric used for plasma and led.. maybe u fork out like rm10 per month more..

Yeah, i think it is not really an issue unless u open the TV 24/7 then maybe the difference is bigger, i am sold for Plasma color reproduction and accuracy, but it is less bright compared to led tv.. not very big difference on brightness but huge different on color.. u have to check out urself and decide wat is best for ur eyes...
