QUOTE(Alec.Yong @ Apr 1 2010, 09:41 PM) Amex gives 2x points only for every RM1 spending. Also, some IT shops tend to impose surcharge when you use Amex to pay. Currently, there are other CCs offering better cash back and promotions. Therefore, you may split your payment if you have other cards coincidently offering attractive discount. At the same time, your RM500 target spending on Amex is fulfilled.QUOTE(zenquix @ Apr 1 2010, 09:51 PM) Yes, RM500 is easily achieved on a monthly basis if you opt for Express Autopay for payment of telco and utility bills.QUOTE(David83 @ Apr 1 2010, 11:40 PM) That previous promotion was MUCH BETTER AND EASIER, without asking you to spend any big amount on other retail transactions. |

So the extra 8X of TP is equal to how many % of rebate? Is that nearly about 3.8%? Ok let's do a simple calculation:
21000TP = RM100 Jusco Voucher 210TP = RM1 So when we spend RM1000 and get extra 8X of TP, we get 10000TP = RM47.62 (2X = RM9.524, 8X = RM38.096) Hence, RM38.096 over RM1000 we spent = 3.8096% Correct me please if my calculation is wrong, thanks. |

Why did you make it so complicated? 200 MR points = RM1. So 1 MR = RM0.005

QUOTE(kevler @ Apr 2 2010, 12:00 PM) do you guys notice what is the difference between Membership Reward and Maybanks TreatPoint ? MR is strictly for AMEX without any other banks logo while TP is for all Maybank VISA/MasterCard/AMEX. QUOTE(kevler @ Apr 2 2010, 12:00 PM) I can't register my Maybank AMEX card into www.americanexpress.com.my and i saw only Platinum card able to collect membership Reward point Not only Platinum Charge Card or Platinum Credit Card earn MR. Green Personal Charge Card, Gold Charge Card and Gold Credit Card are all on MR system. I was a Green Personal Charge Card user before.I assume you're a Gold Credit Card holder ? That is the reason why you can't add the card to AMEX online. You can however, still view your card details on M2U. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Apr 2 2010, 06:01 PM |

I suggest that all new Amex users refer to the first page of this thread. At least this forum will sound more constructive. Questions on TP and MR have been answered again and again.

Actually I do agree that the MR and TP are rather confusing. Why they just standardize into one?

QUOTE(stanleysia @ Apr 3 2010, 09:58 AM) Yea, tried a few TnG Reload center and all doesn't accept AMEX, only Visa/Master.. It depends whether the merchant wants to enable AMEX in the terminal.If HLB should accept right? Cause HLB also offer AMEX CC right? Like TESCO, they're using CIMB terminal but CIMB has no association with AMEX. |
