I normally tabulate the MR points to see whether the system is giving accurate points or not, and it turned out that the system did not recognise the new Carrefour Kota Damansara, only giving me 2x points instead of 5x. Small matter though.

Actually when the balance 10x points going to be given? Cos I managed to hit above RM500 for April but my petrol & groceries only given the usual 5x points.

My 2 Amex transactions on Sat also appeared as 4 transactions, double-charge. I was planning to call Maybank, luckily I saw the postings here first.

I have Amex Gold credit card and also the old Maybankard Amex, both still usable. However my Maybankard Amex is only valid until end of this month. So I shall see how Maybank is going to replace it.

I can't terminate the old Amex yet as I am still waiting for my 5000 points from Maybank TreatsFair WheelSpin and also the balance 8x points from the 10x points promotion to be credited.

I manage to verify that the balance of 5x points for the Amex 10x points promotion credited to me exactly match my expected points for the month of April 2010. So now still have to wait for May, June & July.

At this age of IT, the calculation/rewarding of the 10x points is painfully slow. It may be either the programmers or the system is lousy, but I think the reason is being trying to retain the user base, as it is very common for users to switch cards nowadays.

From the FAQ:

Q16 : If I use the American Express Gold Credit Card at Cold Storage at IKANO Power Center, am I eligible for the Cash Back and the 5x Membership Rewards Points?

A16 : You will be eligible for the 5X Membership Rewards points, however, please note that the Cash Back is not applicable for transactions made at supermarkets/hypermarkets which are located in the selected malls, for example: Cold Storage, Jusco Supermarket, Carrefour, Giant, Mercato De Market Place, Village Grocer and Isetan Supermarket.

So this promotion is different from last year?

I think Amex is smarter this time with the exclusion of hypermarkets/supermarkets in the listed shopping malls, as for myself, I can now only benefit from Jusco Department Store, ToysRUs and Pizza Hut. I also frequent Popular Bookshop but Amex not accepted. Perhaps I really should go for the purchase of Jusco vouchers.

Sorry, my error. Now that I checked back my past transactions, the cash back didn't include hyper/supermarkets in shopping malls. My qualifying spent about RM1,500 during the previous promotion period got me back RM225.

Amex has Flexi Rewards Programme whereby 200 points = RM1, so you can redeem RM25 with 5000 points. Just call to redeem.

I finally see my 5000 Maybank TreatsFair Wheel-of-Fortune points in my expired Maybank Amex card after I wrote a complaint email. Now I need to call CS to transfer the points to my Amex Gold credit card.

Got an iPad from Ikano Harvey Norman using Amex without any extra charges, so hopefully should get my RM150 cash back.

Don't worry, I am also still waiting for the balance of 10x promotion. But I have finally managed to get my 5000 points from TreatsFair Wheel-Spin after my recent barking to amex.customercare@maybank.com.my.

Glad to report here that my outstanding points for 10x promotion have all been credited today, but only after my numerous calls and emails. Guess Maybank staff must be fed up with me.
