The way you mentoned "kill" seems to say that it'll brick the player. But actual fact is it just won't play the new MKV rip using 4.2 & above. Until new firmware by realtek to address the issue if they come out, have to clean every file that have this problem. His 'Kill' refers to Old Realtek players (that no longer come out with new FW) becoming obselete when all MKVs use Rip 4.2 and above.

Xtreamer already can play to MKV compressed header files for quite some time.

Our resellers will be selling a new model Realtek 1055 chipset by early next month.

The model is Egreat R6B at a very reasonable price.

Guess so but just have to clean up the MKV everytime which would be a real hassle like what we did last time when Sigma chipset have problem with DTS support.

Realtek is good to play most of the audio/video files such as RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP4...., but when play the blu-ray, I still prefer the Sigma chipset, more stable and PQ also sharper.

If I think of buying another box, I think I'll go the Sigma processor route. Already got the Realtek type and I think I'll leave that for audio jukebox and use a Sigma type for Video.

But Sigma lately don't have any new player? Or you may know more then me because lately did not really follow up on this.

aiyoh. if we import those cap ayam player and give warranty 1 week of coz we can sell very low price.

at least my brand not chap ayam. come from europe, usa, german (cakap only ^.^).

Acryan also oem by mile china. nothing special.

i doesn't mean ur one is cap ayam. i mean if we just doing "Trading type" but not intend to carry it at long term, and give shorten warranty. customers will not trust ur business. dono la. this is from our side problem. somemore we got distribute to dealers also. cannot say now sell eaget, later sell XXX brand, next year dont want sell media player

aiyoh. those WD or asus branded sure need sell higherprice, becoz their cost so high. margin for dealers is little. (ur current price for media player also high mah if consider the valuable).

Well, if you have to defend yourself like that even though I did not mentioned anyone nor any brand, it shows what your own thinking is! But really if Egreat can sell at RM190 then it's a good buy even though Egreat is not really a so call "branded" player anyway but at least they are still around & has been for quite some time.

One obvious thing is no network, less flash RAM, new SDK from Realtek & seems it runs cooler. Recommended as a standalone player to carry around with as most manufacturer shipping out without internal HDD capability. Hope it does support USB Wireless though!
