Thinking to grab the best value Media Player around RM200..Can play at most TV (CRT / LCD) with most features..Leaning towards Eaget X5. Any others better than this..

Not really sure current / the best chipset for handling varies format. Advises is much appreciate.. Thx

If you want play bdiso,highbitrate,truehd,dtsma. Realtek chipset still best.

Realtek 1055 is out already. But maybe FW at the moment not very stable.

Realtek 1055 is 400MHz right?

1055 firmware not stable now. Manufacture still work onit. Estimate mid/end next month release.

1055 chipset seems like having only 16mb flash...if compare to older version, older version have 512Mb...

It because take out network/wifi part. core software does not need too much space.

The 1073C+ use 256MB flash. but most brand software use less than 128mb.

WIFI and LAN need that much space?

Realtek redesign new software.

Eaget X5 after latest firmware, so far so good.
Eaget M890 with RTD1055DD coming soon after they solved the final serious problem (cannot play SD card)



China price RMB388, Malaysia will seling at RM199 (shipping cost mah )

Eaget X5 not realtek chipset (not discuss here ^^).

Realtek 1055 software still develope... hope next month will improve.

Just setup my Himedia 300A with new firmware from here http://bbs.himedia.com.au/index.php?board=5.0 & manage to watch Twilight on GouGou without any breakage on my Unifi, not HD but quality is better than normal TV. Does the rest of the Realtek has this Internet TV channel as well? There's some other channels also but did not really test it out yet because all in chinese.

Sure smaller la, they remove so much RAM and ROM out...

Is there any new firmware for the Himedia HD300D.Been googling,couldn't find any.The HD300A cant play properly with certain mkv files.Got sound but no picture.

Nowdays watching BDISO so all my old MKV no problem. But 300D is just 300A with a bigger casing & DVD so I think firmware should be same as 300 series.

mkvmerge v4.2 - v4.4 will kill most old realtek player (those not provide firmware update)
