this point, you refering when viewing SD videos or both HD videos as well?
*
i tried HD movies only on a 40 inch lcd .. especially film like movies (sory too noob to describe, for example ancient war movies).. i didnt try SD movies but hd series like csi which is not grainy looks ok .. what i meant is i am used to wdtv so when i watch with blue angel i notice there is a difference, thats all.. it doesnt mean realtek video quality is bad maybe i am just fussy..

I bought this player mainly bcoz my parents need this kind of player.. very hard for me to explain to them what is dts and y their tv got no sound.. i am also too lazy to check if cheap sigma players like wdtv can downmix dts to stereo now.. so just get this all in 1 and reasonable priced player...

yes I also notice some difference between sigma chips and realtek.. (me also prefer sigma's slight edge on video performance) but the swiss knife style functions of realtek also very useful..

same here .. i wont hesitate getting a realtek player if they improve their pps function.. and if i could add overseas english radio stations it would be so useful.. at the moment only few china stations.. i havent tried adding any stations yet...i tried installed teow chiew station and it worked fine hahha.. i know laptops and desktops can do the same think but this is much cheaper n very convinient.. will be convinient for our wives or parents

i am not sure y i couldnt play pps and youtube today.. it says something like 'media file not supported'.. it worked fine yesterday though.. pls take note that this might be my own fault and has nothing to do with the player.. like i said i am a low tech person.. dont even know how to use the network fucntion to stream files yet hehe

I also got my H10R yesterday from yangxi. So far, results have been satisfactory.

Being previous WDTV owner, I also noticed that video is noticeably less crisp but not detrimentally so, compared to WDTV output using 720p and 1080p mkv's. Perhaps WDTV was applying some video sharpening?

Curiously, the H10R provides controls for brightness, contrast and volume apart from the usual aspect ratios, zoom, search and sound options.

Playing music FLAC files was a miss initially but it worked later on after a few ON/OFF cycles but only for some folders. Will have to check this one out again later.

Overall sound quality was better than the WDTV-better imaging and separation was noticeable in HD movies. Sound was streamed thru HDMI to my Onkyo 805 instead of optical in the WDTV could be the reason.

I didn't notice the exhaust fan noise cos I usually play loud and my HD65 is much nearer than the H10R anyway.

Overall, I'd say its a worthwhile upgrade from the WDTV considering the cheap price.
