QUOTE(Dickong @ Mar 10 2010, 06:29 PM) How come 55 mean the width not the height, 195 should be the width n 15 should be the radius. 195x55x15 mean width/height/radius. 195 tire thread width... 55 is the tire side wall ratio to the width means 107.25mm and R15 is the Rim diameter measurement... the total diameter of the wheel is 381mm (Rim size 15x25.4mm) + 107.25 = 488.25... it is about the similar size of the G & TRD Spec Original tire size 185/60 R15 (492mm)... but you have wider contact to the road and also more choices of tires vs that odd size... QUOTE(alan75 @ Mar 10 2010, 08:28 PM) it is a lil expensive... try to nego until like RM220/pc for 4 tires... QUOTE(priyangaf @ Mar 11 2010, 07:28 AM) well you have a good question here... DRB is not as good as V12 and PS3 should better between those... as PS3 is new i has not test it... going to be soon as PS3 is above PP2 where i used b4 so i rank PP2 same with V12 so PS3 should be the best among the 3... Toyo DRB is more into entry level for Ultra High Performance, where V12 is some what in the middle and PS3 is more towards the higher side... Comfort V12 and DRB can give you a lil more on that... PS3 looks ok also... the safe bet is DRB or V12 even T1R also ok... what u need is the key of which tire u should choose... Comfort? Handling? Noise? |

V12 la... tat one is with fierce directional thread... PS3 is normal thread but do not look down on it... i'll get it soon let you know if it is really good... a lot of ppl laugh haha the tire not look nice... but i can tell u PP2 and PS2 also is asymmetric tires which beats a lot of their rival without much sweat...
@ bro Travis arrange for Vios TT... ??? This post has been edited by michael9413: Mar 11 2010, 12:22 PM |

Michael, if we compare between S drive, V12, PS3, which one is the most suitable for Vios G spec new facelift? as said earlier i need to have a sporty look, good grip and better cornering/driving..no issues with sound.@ bro Travis arrange for Vios TT... ??? |

V12 is better than S Drive but PS3 is the best of all haha...
V12 looks fierce with nice comfort and grips, S Drive tends to be a bit less grippy during the wet as i heard but PS so far impress most of the ppl... read the review from a extreme tire user... (Copy from AW Forum - Tire section PS3 thread) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

hey guys, thanks for the advices earlier on!
but after survery the price outside (tyres alignment costs RM 45), i did it with SC, as only RM 15 difference. seems like in jb, they can do the tyres alignment. changed my oil to fully synthetic for 10,000km. overall costs me RM370! phew, but as i travel outstation a lot, so i think it's better to change to fully synthetic. been driving my car for abt 4mths, so far happy with my vios. jus that sometimes when idle during red light and when turn green, seems like it's a bit stubborn to go, not that smooth. will have the acceleration sounds though it's below rpm 2000. do u all feel that? i don't like roaring sound but sometimes when i start to go after green light, it has the sound. so far, if 80% highway, can get 0.13/km if 60% highway, 0.14/km if totally city, 0.16/km or 0.17/km i hardly exceed rpm 3000, unless driving in highway. if idle, car is either rpm 500 or 700. if 110kmph, rpm is around 2800. so do u guys think it's ok?? 09' vios G owner, reporting in!!! |

michael9413, I jz heard on new vios G spec 15-inch alloy wheel toyota design with a new tire size 185/60R15.
so as per my requirement ...to have a sporty look and more grip and comfortable, which size you recommend to upgrade for? is it 195/55 R15 still the best choice ? Thanks |

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Mar 15 2010, 04:32 PM) michael9413, well PS2 can say is Mex Performance while AD08 is Extreme so does KU36... but for extreme tires the wet is not that good... PS2 is good in wet but PS3 is about 30% more better than PS2 in wet... thats y i wanna try it as it smell so good when you say it is good in wet... wah so many owner is looking forward to install PS3? since so many ppl say PS3 tire is good tire if to compare to kumho KU36 & AD08 for dry grip are PS3 reach that grip level? compare to Ultra High Performance tire like S Drive, PP2, V12, T1R, RE001... PP2 stand out on the wet performance, while others cannot get really close to it... V12 is quite but not that close as PP2 i can drive 140km/h in NSE while raining like heavily but V12 i felt some small hydroplaning effect already at 110km/h i emphasize more on wet driving coz that is very dangerous, it is no use when you drive fast at dry and slow during wet... second is the comfort and noise... then again if you choose directional tires it tends to make more noise... just like the V12 (i just swap over to my SEG)... so i'm eager to try non-directional tires that give you ample of grip and perform well in wet... QUOTE(kazami @ Mar 15 2010, 04:39 PM) michael9413 I'm going to Hin Leong at Jln Kapar mostly... might go to another shop in PJ Seapark also... which part of klang? jalan kapar? which shop name? i might need to take the car for balancing and alignment check after running on 8k km on my last service haven decide yet... bro for Alignment and Balancing u look for bro CheeAnn... his side is famous for that... contact him for booking if not need to wait oh... my fren waited for about 3 hours just for rotation, balancing and alignment... QUOTE(kazami @ Mar 15 2010, 05:57 PM) few questions in my mind... oh icic... well dry traction not that worry about it as it give you ample of grip when u buy Ultra High Performance tire but not all UHP tire give you the wet grip and hydroplaning resistance that u hope for... PP2 is one of the best hydroplaning resistance tire un UHP category... why u guys keep on saying on wet? y no body emphasis on dry condition? eg. during cornering speed my vios year 08 feb hitting 30k km soon tires still stock.. was thinking PP2... wat bout the noise level? anyway, it wasnt really my car... but im taking care of the maintainance and everything... my sis just drive it around.. bro cheeann too far... i do take my car let him do change parts... beside hin leong is a shop called hock li... i got 1 far far away relative work inside there.. but only in charge on handling parts... tires part, i dont think he can get cheap for it noise level for Asymmetric and also Symmetrical tires is slightly lower, but for directional tire is a bit noisier... no worries on that... but again noise level is very subjective coz every car has different sound insulation... |
