Dears, I hv pre-booked the new vios G spec and hopefully car wl be in my hands during mid April. Thailand already launched it ..so I hope Malaysia too wl launch it soon. according to the SA, Malaysia launch date wl be on April 16th.

See the latest launch picture below:

My Question:

Before doing anything, I am thinking to change the tires to have a more grip ,comfortable ride and a sportier look, I think I wl go for PP2 tires. size 195/55/r15, any comments ?

secondly if I decide to keep the factory fitted tires, whats wrong with them ? the tire size is 185/60/ r15

Thanks,

195 tire thread width... 55 is the tire side wall ratio to the width means 107.25mm and R15 is the Rim diameter measurement... the total diameter of the wheel is 381mm (Rim size 15x25.4mm) + 107.25 = 488.25... smile.gif
it is about the similar size of the G & TRD Spec Original tire size 185/60 R15 (492mm)... but you have wider contact to the road and also more choices of tires vs that odd size...
it is a lil expensive... try to nego until like RM220/pc for 4 tires...
well you have a good question here... DRB is not as good as V12 and PS3 should better between those... as PS3 is new i has not test it... going to be soon as PS3 is above PP2 where i used b4 so i rank PP2 same with V12 so PS3 should be the best among the 3...
Toyo DRB is more into entry level for Ultra High Performance, where V12 is some what in the middle and PS3 is more towards the higher side...
Comfort V12 and DRB can give you a lil more on that... PS3 looks ok also... the safe bet is DRB or V12 even T1R also ok...
what u need is the key of which tire u should choose... Comfort? Handling? Noise?
*
for me comfort and handling is main, little noise ok..but shd be sporty..which one dear ? mine new vios G spec..getting in april..

V12 la... tat one is with fierce directional thread... PS3 is normal thread but do not look down on it... i'll get it soon let you know if it is really good... a lot of ppl laugh haha the tire not look nice... but i can tell u PP2 and PS2 also is asymmetric tires which beats a lot of their rival without much sweat...

@ bro Travis
arrange for Vios TT... ???

Michael, if we compare between S drive, V12, PS3, which one is the most suitable for Vios G spec new facelift? as said earlier i need to have a sporty look, good grip and better cornering/driving..no issues with sound.

michael9413, I jz heard on new vios G spec 15-inch alloy wheel toyota design with a new tire size 185/60R15.
so as per my requirement ...to have a sporty look and more grip and comfortable, which size you recommend to upgrade for? is it 195/55 R15 still the best choice ?

Thanks

Got this picture from the net, for me the tread pattern is quite boring..

however Michelin says PS3 is "Better road-holding in bends and three metres shorter braking distance on wet roads", which is a significant change in wet performance...so you guys pls review the tire after installing ..ok?

well i heard there is some pros and cons...
i now fibreglass is a bit brittle and ABS is more ductile... when u know it with certain force...
there is a lot of Body kits from Thailand i think coz Vios is quite a hot mod over there... so try to look at more photos b4 u ask them to make it...

Thanks michael9413, noted yours smile.gif

aiya should tell me earlier then i pick up my fren at Sunway and go there... hehe more ppl eat cheaper mah...
Friday nite there less traffic meh??? haha... can also la... Friday should be mo problem at nite... maybe make it around 10pm then... easier for all ppl...
BTW test drive in my car no use as my old gen Vios's suspension is a lil stiffer than ur new car... but at least u can have general feelings...

*this morning took it for a round with my puppy with me... from Shah Alam Hicom to Desa Park City in Kepong via NKVE try some corners (especially those butterfly design from Subang tol to NKVE) it is capable to do better corners with 10~20km/h faster than my previous Hankook V12... noise from the Tires is clearly heard from 70km/h~120km/h after that it will humms much lesser...
its handling is sweet at least better than V12 coz switch lane at 120km/h with sharp response... yummy... drool.gif
wanna know more then u need to try to install it on ur ride to feel the superb difference, especially the amount of grips it offer and the sharp precision handling....

bro, how much was it?

Yeah only thing we all know is launching on 16th, BUT that doesn't mean car will be in our hands on that day..maybe it wl take few weeks more to receive the car.

FYI I ordered mine in Feb 1st week, but still UMW has not given an exact date of delivery to SA/Showrooms.

I am too waiting!!

Cheers.
