hmm... been ages since i've been in here.

my girl, siu wan injured her spine yesterday. She is active, still walks properly and can feel her legs, but is not able to jump.

went to the vet, she's now on some anti inflamatory drugs and some supplements to boost the healing, and has to be cage rested and seperated from siu kat. sad.gif

anyone else has had similar experiences with any tips to share?

just brought them out again today to a nasi lemak place at San Peng... hehe

Hey guys..after getting over my heartache of my jack jack's departure..I've finally bought a MS. Actually, I was planning to get a MS long before to be jack jack's companion but the plan was put on hold.

I have been looking everywhere from home breeders to almost every single pet shop around Subang-PJ areas. MS are indeed a very popular breed. Most of the time when a breeder/petshop contacts me on the availability of a MS, they'd be all sold by the time I go and view them.

So, finally I've got a call from Petsmore (I think, I can't remember the shop name) in Empire shopping Gallery and I totally fell in love with this MS. She has very dark grey and white coat, MKA certified and microchipped. She is currently 3 months old and looked really healthy and active.

I've named her Poppy (not that I'm a druggie but thought its a cute name ;p) and she's home with me since Saturday. She is such a people friendly dog and can stick to anyone! She has also adapted very well and makes minimal noises (which I was a lil worried prior to getting a MS as I was told they tend to bark quite a bit). Best of all, the moment you carry her to your lap, she'll sit quietly and just stay there till she falls asleep. Such a wonderful companion.

I still have much work to do now and probably the No 1 priority is to get the vac in order as she has only taken the 1st vac to date and the 2nd one due now. Another top priority is toilet traning her. According to the petshop, I'm asked to feed her 3 times a day, with each time only 2 table spoon of dog biscuits. Poppy is so soft and gentle but when she sees food, she'll turn into a monster and gobbles up everything within seconds. I've resorted to feeding her piece by piece to help calm her down. For a 3 months of MS, is that too little or too much food? Poppy never seem to have enough but I suspect she's probably greedy.

One last questions to all u guys here: Can Poppy be seen mixing with other adult dogs (only 1st Vacc done). My gf has a toy poddle (Russel) and sometimes she brings Russel to my house.

This is just some of the pics I've managed to take

Added on May 24, 2010, 11:03 amOh btw, Poppy's ears are not cropped. I've decided to not do anything to her as I can't bear to see her in pain. She's gonna be my pet afterall and not a show dog.

Another thing is she has a little tail (approx. 1 inch long)..are MS supposed to have tails or they're docked during very young years? Either way, I dun mind her with a tail too as the same reason above applies.

Awww Poppy's adorable!!

MS naturally have long-ish tails like what you'd see on most dogs. If the tails are docked, then it's my understanding that the docking is done when they're very young (supposedly the nerve endings haven't grown in the tail yet).

Just curious, when is Poppy's birthday? I got my MS from Petsmore 1 Utama and was told that there were other puppies in the litter but they were sent to different Petsmore outlets. I wonder if our puppies are siblings biggrin.gif

My MS was born on 3rd May. She has a docked tail but her ears are not cropped.

As for mixing with other dogs, my vet advised me that it's best not to mix at all until after she gets her 3rd vaccination jab. If it is not possible for her to be kept alone (eg there are other dogs in the house) then it's ok to mix them provided that the other dogs are all vaccinated.

This is my MS, Sherry smile.gif

You have a beautiful puppy as well biggrin.gif

As for Poppy, her birthday is in February so I guess they're not exactly sibblings? But I'm sure they'll be great friends if we met. Poppy's tail is not exactly long but its there so I'm not really sure if its docked or not.

I'll get Poppy to the vet today after work for her vaccination and will keep my fingers crossed that she's a perfectly healthy dog. Can't wait for her 3rd Vaccinaton so that she can start haning out with all the other MS gatherings here.

I've sent mine to class before. Graduated already..hehehe.
I didn't choose to go to the central park or puppy.com coz it's outdoor and it's hot.
I went to Pet Studio Training & Photography instead, the trainer Rubini is featured in the Petster magazine smile.gif

I got addicted to horse cut eventhough Pepper is a female dog. Pepper does not have the schnauzer cool look, so after cut become like little pony instead of handsome horse tongue.gif Among few grooming places i went to, still prefer Pets Icon the most. Very professional and Pepper is very happy to go there. So although it's far from our house, we still insisted to go back there for grooming smile.gif
