Nice! Which brand are those?Myself, I've picked up a few new pair. Here is one that just came, from new brand Passus. They are completely handmade, in either Hungary or Romania. Enjoying them so far!

QUOTE(Kelvw @ May 21 2020, 08:01 PM) I just won a bunch of Saphir products for an online shoeshine competition. It was good fun and helps replenish some of my current polish. Man, congrats. Also, killer product collection!Shoes not included lol |

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Jun 11 2020, 04:12 PM) Hi all in need of some guidance If you are still in need of some guidance, do let me know. I'd be happy to let you try on my Hiros in 7.5 if you like. I've also got another Meermin in 8, though I think it's the Elton last. I find their stuff pretty true to size. The Hiro was a touch tight on my toes as it broke in, as I recall, but now fits quite comfortably.Am thinking of getting these Meermin's for work https://www.meermin.es/in_en/10150910190000...lf-e-negro.html Will probably go for rubber sole since KL's weather is so unpredictable. My question is does anyone know the sizing I should go for in the Hiro last? My usual size is 42 euro or Loake's size 8 UK in Matrix/F fit. Also how are customs taxes for leather shoes since it's my first time ordering leather shoes from overseas. On customs, I've been paying 10 to 15 percent. Not too happy about it, but what can you do. |

QUOTE(yehlai @ May 22 2020, 10:51 PM) Got this last week, getting it because of Horween leather How are you liking these? I, too, recently tried Chromexcel for the first time, on these Grant Stone loafers I got an incredible deal on. Within fifteen minutes on the first wear they developed some wrinkles on the right foot, as you can see, but I ordered some neatsfoot oil to rub into them and that seemed to help. Super comfortable shoes, by the way, and I'm really digging the leather. I bet it's fantastic for boots.heard Horween Chromexcel don't need much care, just brush and it will shine ![]() ![]() ![]() |

BUYING OPPORTUNITY - If any of you wear UK 7.5 and are looking to pick up some new shoes, do let me know if you have something specific in mind. I am leaving the country, I'm afraid, and I really don't want to bring all my shoes with me. I have a few dozen pair I'd like to move, from John Lobb down to Johnston and Murphy, and I'd much rather pass them along to someone here, at a good price, than sell them online. Most of them are lightly used, perhaps worn just a time or two, but I do have some unworn pairs as well.

Unfortunately I didn't go through with the Hiro last and instead went for these pair of cap toe oxfords; https://www.meermin.es/in_en/10143010190000...lf-e-black.htmlOn customs, I've been paying 10 to 15 percent. Not too happy about it, but what can you do. Comes in the Rois last and is supposedly an amalgamation of the Hiro last so I went for size 8 UK (I'll find out one way or another if it fits 😅). The customs thing sucks but the cost even after tax ought to still be cheaper than a Loake 1880 due to Meermin's free international shipping promo last week. Currently still stuck in China for a few days now though :/ This post has been edited by zack.gap: Jul 7 2020, 11:34 PM |

I started my shoe journey with the 101534 black captoe from Meermin. I ended up giving it to a colleague, and man, I kinda wish I had it back. It was a very, very solid shoe. I predict you will be quite pleased! Don't be alarmed if they are a little bit hard to break in, as that's fairly common, it seems, with Meermin -- and has certainly been the case for me.Comes in the Rois last and is supposedly an amalgamation of the Hiro last so I went for size 8 UK (I'll find out one way or another if it fits 😅). Absolutely in love with it. For anyone here looking for Meermin sizing, my shoes are normally 42 euro, 8UK on Loakes F fit. I choose 8 UK on the ROIS last and it fits like a glove. Will post pics up later but suffice to say I'll definitely be getting from them again in the future! ( also the shipper in China apparently under declared the shoe value so I didn't even get charged for import duty |

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Jul 8 2020, 01:51 PM) Ok thanks. Matrix looks pretty much the same at the toe (of the foot, not the shoe/last) as Capital.Since Loake Capital already fits me like a glove with some occasional pinky rubbing, I probably should get half size up if I ever try Meermin Rois last. |

Saw this at the shoe section for Parkson Pavi
![]() Famaco Cirage De Luxe (Made in France) ![]() Had a look at the ingredients and what popped up was Saphirs Pate De Luxe (Ingredients Sheet). Cost of this was about RM18 so basically Pate De Luxe clone for 1/5th the price? Anyone tried out this polish before? Curious if performance is similar. |

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Jul 11 2020, 09:31 PM) Saw this at the shoe section for Parkson Pavi Fascinating! I've not tried it, but I'm sure curious to. What I have heard before is that the big reason the Saphir stuff is more expensive -- even between their own lines -- is the amount of pigment. So, it would indeed be interesting to use this and see if we could see a difference.Had a look at the ingredients and what popped up was Saphirs Pate De Luxe (Ingredients Sheet).
