Downside of having nicely polished shoes. One bad scrape will make things really obvious. Especially at the toe box.

Good idea, would be nice to have a shoe care thread but you can post here too.

@SweetPuff Yeah, one have to be so careful especially on the stairs. I'm concerned with brushing it against the chair roller wheels instead.

just saw a John Lobb documentary on BBC4 last night on bespoke shoes. Truly amazing on handcrafted shoes, showing handwelting and stacked leather heels. Probably looking at £4000 upwards.

Was at Gaziano & Gerling store, very impressive workmanship.

Damn, you must take home upwards of £20k per month to be able to splurge like this! Every time I open this thread you have a new pair (or two).

The box colour... Tiffany & Co shoes? laugh.gif

Which CJ Handgrade is that in the background?
Lovely GW Santoni again. Love the colour!
Not sure if anyone heard of Carlos Santos shoes. May check em out next week.

It's CJ rosemoor. But with two tone sole design.

Carlos Santos is a highly reviewed brand- good value for money shoes. Plus, it offers options for patina at a fraction of shoe price which is really amazing and unbelievable!

Looks like Edward Green where Tony Gaziano used to work in the Bespoke section of the company. Is EG having sale at the moment? Will be in London tomorrow...if there is sale going on at EG, i may stop by.

Amazing shoes with classic lasts!

Just to save me some time, any bargain at any particular shops in Jermyn St that i should look out for? For CJ, which shop has more selections (on sale of course), Canary wharf or Jermyn St?

Thought of buying a good umbrella too? Any thoughts, if you are familiar, between Fox, Swaine Adeney Brigg or James Smith?

High salary or income certainly helps but Sometimes it's not a matter of high income alone that led to shopping spree... For example, i've read about an article about li ka shing, one of the richest man alive showing off his usd400 casio watch while the journalist who interviewed him sporting a whooping rm90k AP Royal Oak. Once you are passionate about something, nothing else matters! But like i said earlier, high income certainly helps!

While you may not wear all of the shoes that you have in your collection but staring at them, caressing, caring and polishing them alone would give you shoe-gasm!

Being in Europe, summer and winter time would be the time to engage in a shopping spree mode! Kelv can correct me if I'm wrong! smile.gif

Maybe JLobb bespoke or any bespoke is a bit too steep for most of us to be spending our hard-earned money on....but JLobb RTW's price is not too bad if you buy from Bespoke England's website.

If i ever go Bespoke, i would make sure i'll start with Japanese maker Yohei Fukuda - starts at GBP2500++. You could save gbp1500 compared to Jlobb bespoke with similar quality - Japanese precision! 👍🏻 but this is only a dream for me! Wouldnt spend that much on footwear! At least, not yet!

Unfortunately in Malaysia, two physical stores that you could visit and try on the shoes are only limited to those two retailers for now.

A few addition from the great list that Marver has compiled:

http://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk
www.skoak.com ( look for odd stock section - you may strike a bargain if the size is right - but do check regularly the odd stock seems to be snapped pretty quickly)
www.bodileys.com
http://www.bespoke-england.co.uk - for value buy john lobb

and of course, cheaney is having its promotion now...but personally for the price between Church, Cheaney, Carmina, etc, i would go for Carmina hands down!

Yeah. And different folks also have different comfort levels when it comes to shopping. For me it is about 5% of my disposable income. I just can't bring myself to spend more at this point in time, especially when I'm only in my 20s. So to spend more, I first have to grow my income.

Doesn't help that the ringgit is absolute poo against the USD or euro.

I don't have any other indulgences hence I could spend a bit more on shoes now. It used to be guitars but I'm happy with the ones I have now and the prices these days are insanely expensive. Furthermore shoes requires less space and relatively much cheaper smile.gif

Yeah nikfs1881 is correct, it's the summer sale season and much bargains to be had. Cheaney had pretty good bargains on the website, the rest you would have to visit the stores. CJ's sale is ok generally as it's about 10% - 15% off some of the handgrades, Seconds are much cheaper but gotta know where to spot the faults. However I do enjoy having a chat/banter in these shops whenever I'm down in London as they are ever so friendly. EdwardGreen not so much.

@Nik I don't know if EG sale is still on or not. I need to drop by tomorrow for shoe trees. Where are you based? You seemed to travel quite a bit. As CJ, most shops carry almost the same selection however Canary Wharf is quieter which is nice.
