QUOTE(yvliew @ Sep 22 2009, 11:33 PM) Not all motherboard support PII 965BE?? Gigabyte says my MA785GM-US2H does not support.. major concern is d tdp, however, there'll be lower tdp version of 965be so worry not. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « how reliable u think it is?? even some good board also doesn't have it on the cpu support list.. |

QUOTE(yvliew @ Sep 23 2009, 12:15 AM) even it the mobo does support 140w cpu.. its not on the list.. weird... overall only 8 mobo from gigabyte official on the support list.. What is supported 'officially' can sometimes be added or removed according to situations such as test done internally or by 3rd parties....The gezillions of PC products out there and to test everything to ensure everything is working fine, is almost impossible to do... Like when I boot up using 790FX-GD70 the bios didn't recognize the X2 550 BE proc...under processor tab in Bios, it describe it as Unknown AMD Processor To me it doesn't really matter if it support or not...if it can be power up, it can be use...what better if can be overclocked!!! |

Tons of bios options, eye candy LED's, easy out of the casing operation, one button CMOS reset, cool looking heatpipe n sinks, what more do you want...hehehehehe woaahhh.... gd70... Maybe I would 'lelong' the GD70 for funding of my i-seben platform...the 1366 yah not the 1156 |

The reason of me purchasing a platform (be it AMD or Intel or Transmeta or Motorola Freescale or whateva) is because of the sheer ultimate CPU processing power...If I can afford Quad Xeons/Opterons or Itanium II, IBM PowerXCell 8i I will... I only care about SPI, WPrime and all the other CPU related benches...not so much info 3DMK06 Cinebech the lot... i-seben is the yardstick now and as you see on the link regarding 6Ghz Phenom, there is no way it could beat an i-7 in SuperPI or whatever PI for that matter I'm not saying that I would leave AMD camp, is just the i-7 the is 'currently' benchmark right now... No lar...i dun own so many cards...in fact the one I own is just enough to boot into windows and watch non-HD Avi or Matroska codec encoded videos...I dun game much while I do play a certain amount of game, the 4870 is more than enuff already for me...currently I'm on Quadro or sometimes the EN9400GT CPU powahhhh FTW!!! |

I've once been a GFX freak starting with Voodoo 1,2,3 then Nvidia Riva TNT2, Geforce 1,2,3,4, Geforce 4 Ti, MX440, FX5900, 6600GT (SLI), 6800GT, 6800Ultra, 7800GTX (SLI), 8800Ultra, ATi 9200, 9600XT, 9800XTPE, X900XT, X1950X, HD3870 then 4870... TBH I really regret buying all those... Why didn't I jump from Riva TNT to 4890 straight... |

QUOTE(antonio @ Sep 23 2009, 12:58 PM) Yap...thats true...I don't play Crysis, Far Cry or Crysis2 or even UT and COH...the games that I play is, Sim City, Football Manager and rFactor...which all runs fine today even with the outdated 4870 on contrary, i was a cpu/board swinger b4, gfx (low to mid range) was only a side hobby as i never really into gamin that much. it all started when i purchased abit nf-7, then d nf2 infinity which made me madly in luv w/ dfi boards. then came s939 era where amd was d performance king, managed to taste dfi lp nf3, nf4 sli & expert w/ 0516 venice, x2 3800+ e3 & few x2 4x00. madness @ its max when intel took back d performance crown w/ d intro of c2d. tried x2 3600+, x2 3800+ f2&f3, x2 5000+ be, 9600, 9550, 9750, 9950be, 7750be, x3 720be, x4 810 & d x2 550be now with boards such as ax78, 790gx a2+, 790gx 128m, ut 790fx, dk 790fxb, jr790gx, 790gxe 128m and d latest 790gx a3+. was abit lucky to get few pair of affordable but quite ok ram along d journey. d most unforgettable pair would be patriot tccd which managed to prime stable @ 310MHz @ 2.5-4-3-x. I've once been a GFX freak starting with Voodoo 1,2,3 then Nvidia Riva TNT2, Geforce 1,2,3,4, Geforce 4 Ti, MX440, FX5900, 6600GT (SLI), 6800GT, 6800Ultra, 7800GTX (SLI), 8800Ultra, ATi 9200, 9600XT, 9800XTPE, X900XT, X1950X, HD3870 then 4870... TBH I really regret buying all those... Why didn't I jump from Riva TNT to 4890 straight... best buy of all = x4 810 (bought @ $140, sold @ $150) worst buy of all = 0516 venice (bought @ rm7xx iirc, sold @ $40) ehh, abit off topic ledi, better stop now... need opinions..
1) What Athlon II proc is good to use on Biostar TA780G M2+? 2) Windows XP still need to install AMD Dual-core optimizer driver for Athlon II X2? Does Athlon II X4 need AMD processor driver installed in order to make CnQ works properly (at minimal perf loss?)? |
