done pwn-ing 3.1.2 now charging my phone.. ya it shud not consume more power than 3g but somehow it really are... weird... my 3g is at normal mode (wifi on, push on, and so on) while my 3gs is at minimal mode but the battery drain 1%/5mins =S

hey guys, i wonder, is it safe to do online banking activity using the 3G/edge/gprs.

last few days, when i was outside, suddenly i need to do immediate transfer to someone's bank account. so thought of doin it straight from iphone since i got the data plan. but then i've no confident scared if its not a safe connection so i went to starbucks and used the wifi instead.

so is it safe to do online banking activities over the 3G/edge/gprs?
have you guys had tried before? thanks in advance.

Of course a direct update of firmware can be done via comp using iTunes obviously but he's asking to JB his phone with a Mac desktop/laptop. So hence the recommendation or any of his friends with a Mac.

I suggest that you let it charge for 4 hrs max. The batt last longer somehow.

IMHO, i think it's safer to do it over 3G/edge/gprs rather than starbucks wifi which is also over the air and most probably some script kiddy is sniffing the network.

I got my 3Gs iPhone since launch by Maxis. For the past week, battery seems to be depleting faster than normal. I jot down the percentage and its 3 to 4% every 5 minutes using 3G to surf.
I then Restored as New Phone and it got even worse. Now after charging it to 100%, it can go down to 90% even without using it. I am going to restore it again now see what happens.
Yes I have off Push, Fetch, Bluetooth. My Wifi and 3G always on. I had no problems with this setup previously.

If after restoring it again and still the same, Im going to take it back to Maxis for warranty. Wonder if anyone has any experience with this? Do they exchange 1 to 1 or leave the set there for a few days? Do I bring the whole box and contents along with me?

It occurs to me sometimes, infact several times since i've used it. Just use for a longer period and hopefully it will be back to normal. Exchanging, Im not too sure about it .

Yea. Try restarting it frequently and drain it .

my best is just like what DavidGray said on his last post... try charge it and after it hits 100%, let it for 4 hours more...

and i would like to ask, do u charge using the adapter or usb port?
i find that charging using the adapter will give u longer batt than the usb port.... or maybe its just me but ive been looking both of the methods and i have to say, charging using adapter usually will keep my batt last longer... as so as in my case... i turn service locations on, email fetch and push on, my 3g on, and i usually listen to ipod for 3-4 hours and still i got around 65 -50% more batt that can survive about a day, a day and half...

Problem Encountered : Application crashing randomly, some of my application is stable, i thought it was coz of my winterboard last time i jailbreak.. so i stop using it.. but still goes on, so i restore as new phone.. but even new application i dl from App Store also facing the same problem... (I did restart everytime i get a new app)
Steps Taken So Far : Restored as New Phone

Sometimes my applications failed to open, what i do is i deleted an app that i have.. (Just Another Flashlight 16.5KB) then install it again. After the fail to open problem will disappear.

This problem occurs time to time for me so i choose a small application to reinstall as it wont consume much of my data for a 16kb file.

Any other smaller size app around??

i'd the same problem like yours previously when im on fw 3.0. but right after i pwn it to 3.1.2 everything went just fine. i suggest you try the fw3.1 instead of 3.1.2 see whether it helps or not...

edit : btw, i noticed that mine doesnt has the DiGi carrier logo when comparing with others they have Maxis or Celcom. why is tat?
