Problem Encountered : Battery drains off really fast
Steps Taken So Far : Restored as New Phone


I got my 3Gs iPhone since launch by Maxis. For the past week, battery seems to be depleting faster than normal. I jot down the percentage and its 3 to 4% every 5 minutes using 3G to surf.
I then Restored as New Phone and it got even worse. Now after charging it to 100%, it can go down to 90% even without using it. I am going to restore it again now see what happens.
Yes I have off Push, Fetch, Bluetooth. My Wifi and 3G always on. I had no problems with this setup previously.

If after restoring it again and still the same, Im going to take it back to Maxis for warranty. Wonder if anyone has any experience with this? Do they exchange 1 to 1 or leave the set there for a few days? Do I bring the whole box and contents along with me?

i think cannot go back already? how to go back to fw3.1?

you have to set up using microsoft exchange. can work. i already tried it.
google for the instructions

same here. i dont think i will be changing to any other phone other than iphone. i really like it but there are a few things that irks me -

1. battery life is poor but then again i use it more often than other types of phone. btw my iphone has been sent back to SG for warranty repairs due to the battery draining even faster than normal. i wish it has a user replaceable battery as well.

2. cant bluetooth songs to pc and vice versa

3. GPS cant work without data. Useless when Im overseas.

4. I cant make ring tones easily with wav or other sound files. can be done im sure but takes much effort

5. cant play some Quicktime video - this is really weird. Even Apple's own format cannot work

6. it cant read eBook and some PDFs or any long text document out of the box. need to buy an app

Still I love my iPhone. Its so fast. Never jam on me. It fits my bill. Lets hope the next gen be much better

i have to disagree with that. Most of what I do is SMS and initially before getting the iPhone I was thinking its gonna be difficult to sms but in the end, its fast enough for me. Sure I cant type and drive at the same time anymore with one hand because of no tactile feeling but with two hands and eyes on the screen - its fast enough for me. I just hentam and even wrong spelling it will right it for me....

agreed! its totally unusable
lets hope that next model will see many added improvements
