but its just can jailbreak at the moment using PwnTools (imac only)-mean u can usng ur 3gs/3g just for iTouch function only
coz,once upgrade to FW 3.1,da baseband oso change from 4.26.08 to 5.11.07...F.Y.I baseband 05.11.07 is not unlock able at the moment because Ultrasn0w is not supported by the latest baseband.
u cant downgrade d baseband at the moment (But u still can try downgrade it using Fuzzyband-depend on ur luck)

If I am not mistaken, if you already have the iPhone OS v3.01 and already unlocked, you can opt to download the iPhone OS v3.1 software only update (without baseband firmware). Then you can selectively restore to that. Then you can still JB it.

But its a matter of time before they can find another hole. Judging by the time 3.1 is released and yet today still no news from devteams, guess its a little bit harder this time.

I'm not sure i'm asking in the right channel or not; but need some advise.

I'm just bought an iphone from maxis last week (no contract) and using a regular value plus plan (value plus 80, to be exact) w/o iData subcribed.

1) Does the same rate of 1kb/sen applied for me if I'm surfing the net on Iphone same as previous GPRS/EDGE/3G usage ? Just to confirm if they have different rate for accessing WAP portal (regular phone) and WWW pages (iPhone) ..

2) if I go for iData 250mb.. would it be sufficient for regular internet; facebook, flickr, YM, news, etc?

u mean using the iPhone as the modem for the prepaid broadband? just turn on tethering on ur iphone and it will become ur modem.

for TS, i think its depends on the speed of EDGE for the i2G, if the speed fast then it should be nice, not sure about the stability of it bacause i dont use it for modem.

If I am not mistaken, surfing over the WAP Portal is free of charge until you go outside of that Portal. This is applicable to all phones operating within Maxis network.

2. In my case, I can't even use more than 100MB of data per month. I'm always logged into IM, FB and some light surfing, rarely Youtube. Guess 250MB is enough for myself. But I would recommend 500MB just in case.

i have tried before tether on both EDGE and 3G, both works, and of course the speed are different...

so 2G iPhone speed maximum will be on EDGE only..

I'm a new iphone 3GS user and abit confused with the issue of upgrading to OS 3.1 and losing the carrier unlock.

If you update to Apple’s new software using the normal iTunes process, you will lose your ultrasn0w unlock. In fact you may lose it permanently, because for most people the baseband firmware cannot be reverted to a previous version (unlike the main application CPU firmware).

My iphone is from maxis which is officially unlocked. So I think 'losing the unlock permanently' as quoted by the dev team does not affect my iphone?

It only affects those iphone that are initially carrier locked, and then unlocked by ultrasnow unlock.

and sometime it will suddenly zoom into huge icon ...
everything become huge ...
duno what happen ..
i "slap" the phone few time den it turn back to original form ...

is this a bug or something had happen?

Did you turn on "zoom" from accesiblity? The 3 finger zoom?

Yes, iPhone 3GS from Maxis need not worry anything about these changes because it is officially an unlocked unit. This is because of a newly updated baseband firmware. However, I am not sure if we can still JB. Probably wait for a permanent solution to be released.
