Hello, i've recently got my Iphone 3gs with the hotlink prepaid pack that comes with the 500mb monthly data thingy. But when i tried to view youtube or anything else that needed data transfer/downloading it says "could not activate cellular data network. You are not subscribed to a cellular data service". I have already got the sms confirmation that the 500mb service is already activated...help pls~

once upgrade to FW 3.1 via iTunes,d baseband oso upgrade to 5.11
baseband for 5.11 cant unlock yet
need to wait till dav team released d unlocking tool to unlock dat baseband

do u see the 3g icon when u try using youtube or any other apps that requires 3g data?

sometimes my phone cant load using 3g data bcoz it lost it signal and turn to E or gprs icon..
then it will state something like what u said...

why dont u use the template that have been given at 1st page rather than just giving some random information...?

Thanks for your reply, teikwing. Just out of curiousity, can we replace it under warranty? As far as I'm concerned, users overseas can claim this under warranty and Apple Stores gave them an exchange unit on the spot.

Problem Encountered : Collected the iPhone yesterday, never connect/sync with PC at all. Just switched on and to our surprise in the App store someone’s itune a/c has already login. At the bottom there “Account: ****@gmail.com”. The maxis staff unwrapped and unboxed the iPhone in front of us and she activated it on the spot. Could we have gotten a refurbished/secondhand unit?

Our suspicion arose because there has been a mistake on the booking date, my brother and I booked the iPhone on the 27 of August and due to some misunderstanding between the centre staffs they cancel our booking halfway through the waiting period, our booking is not in the system when we demand for the iPhone on the 26 of Sept since is already 30 days. They have iPhones arrived on the day but they told us all had already been tagged with customer names. However, they assure us on the spot that they will follow up with Headquarter and arrange a special unit for us by next week. Indeed they managed to give us the phone yesterday after I received a call in the morning that the special arranged iPhone is here. Could the ‘special’ unit be none other then a refurbished/secondhand unit? Hope you guys can share your thoughts.

i'm not too sure about local Maxis sets but you can try.

My friend bought an Iphone from Maxis ..Now he wants to sell it to me..My question is.

1. Since the phone is under his name can it be transfered to me ?
2. Can he terminate the contract? Will it cost him anything?
3. Is is possible to jail break the phone?
4. Some people have been telling me that when ever there is an update you have to go back to maxis to do so.Is this true?

I hope somebody could enlightened me with some answers.

It is only compatible with iPhone to iPhone.

1. Phone is not under anybody's name. Only the plan is.

2. He will be subject to penalty for early termination of contract. Since he is the one enjoyed the rebate from the plan, he should bear the penalty. Should not affect your price at all. Your new phone price is considered to be RM2490 (16gb) and RM2990 (32gb). The price he sells you should be based on those price less discount due to second hand.

3. Yes, possible to jail break. You can restore back to original by updated your software with iTunes and no way to tell that it's been jailbroken before. Once you restore, you can send back to Maxis for warranty claim (if necessary).

4. You NEVER need to go to Maxis for update. You only need to go to Maxis for warranty claim. You update software through iTunes as per normal.

He wants to sell to me his Iphone 3g 8gb.So if I want to buy it he will have to terminate the contract.Can you use like a normal Sim card for the phone?

hey... i wanna ask why my iphone 3g 16gb AUS after jailbreak and unlock... still no network service... it can search the digi,maxis,celcom,u mobile network... but when i click digi, it show network lost... the particullar network is not longer....... hw to solve it??

There have been reported cases in LYN that for the hairline cracks problem, forummers here have successfully claimed under the warranty from Maxis.

Added on September 29, 2009, 12:12 pmFirstly, he does not have to terminate his contract. He can continue to use his SIM card on another phone. You of course can use any SIM card on the iPhone so long as it is valid.
