It is said that the regular ROTF has bigger Audio output (4dB) over the walmart Imax version ... but of coz the IMAX version has that bigger scene at forest fight scene. Checkout the comparison in AVS below.. hmm still dunno which to keep, maybe keep both??

You can't "turn up" the regular version to visually satisfy you http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1189869 |

QUOTE(poyol @ Oct 22 2009, 11:07 AM) The problem is that for the IMAX version the audio is inconsistent. So in essence u need to keep turning up and down...The regular version is more consistent. Again I have not tested this so I can only say what I read. But funny that audio seems to be a consistent issue with both Transformers, wonder if this another Michael Bay thing... |

QUOTE(low98944 @ Oct 22 2009, 10:17 AM) Feel "funny" to know that UK release Red Cliff again but this time is Internation version. The International version is for those 'guai lows' who don't know about the tits and bits of 'Romance of the 3 Kingdoms'Red Cliff [Blu-ray] [2008] ![]() I thought UK version of Red Cliff is region free already? Why need international version? What is more UK version got 293 mins (due to include Red Cliff 1 & 2) and this international version only 148 mins (I think only Red Cliff I included) yet the selling price in Amazon UK is same. The International version is cut version so beware when choose to purchase UK version of Red Cliff. as well as the brotherhood thingy which is very common in ancient China So they don't have to go through the in-depth details just sit down and enjoy the battle scenes |

Checkout the comparison in AVS below.. hmm still dunno which to keep, maybe keep both?? Later on the guy says that if you turn up the volume by 4dB for the IMAX version then it sounds the same:http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1189869 OK I just watched and rewatched and rewatched again and again the OPENING 2mins up to where the giant decipticon comes alive and produces some massive bass by pounding his fists into the ground. I watched the IMAX version 4db louder than the other version which puts them on EQUAL loudness playing fields. I HONESTLY cannot tell a difference in the quality of the sound between the two when they are equally matched. IF you watch them at the same volume of course the non-imax version will sound more powerful, but when equaled out they sound exactly alike, and my spl meter reads EXACTLY the same readings on both movies. Where he pounds the ground and flips over the tubing I hit 116db on BOTH movies at that point. When the IMAX was played 4db louder. I think the moral of my experiment is simple...if you want the Extra punch of the IMAX visuals then simply just turn up the volume 4db MORE and you will have the exact same audio experience as the other version. |
