Yes and No... Yes with Yamaha auto calibration but after that manual adjustment because don't really like auto calibration sometimes front speaker they put big..

LFE cut off 60Hz.. will post speaker level configuration tonight...

anyhow how to calibrate properly? or any thread for this? cool.gif
*
after yamaha auto calibration, set crossover to 80Hz or 100Hz. speaker size set to small. make sure no double bass...means bass redirected to subwoofer. LFE channel itself should get the maximum 120Hz limit.

if u like more bass...can increase the subwoofer level a little hot. same goes to center speaker level.

Actually all of those gain trims looks pretty ok except for the centre. You have the centre very near your listening position?

Set your front and centre back to small though.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting this home theater package from a&l audio: http://www.alaudio.my/index/product-range/value-package.html.

Basically it's the Yamaha RX-V373 and PSB Alpha HT1 5.1 speakers for $3190. But with cables it could be an extra $400.

Is it a good beginner system or can I get a better system since I'm spending around $3500.

I think that is probably a medium setup with low end AVR.If can try to get RX-V473 with more feature than RX-V373 because you already spent more than 3k for your setup

Thanks for replying. Will consider the RX-V473, but what extra feature should I be looking for? And are the speakers good enough? My room is not very big, maybe 8' x 12'.

Thanks again for your help.

RX-473 can have internet connection via LAN.Also support Airplay.Slot behind also can support banana plug in all the slot while RX-v373 have only for the front speaker. The AVR is probably much better a bit with RX-v373.The price is also not much difference

Planning to buy a home theater system, my house is going to start renovation this week. Has aimed for 473 setup with yamaha speakers budget around 3.5K-3.8K. The sales person in HN advised me to get the speaker cables installed first and he has the source to for RM7.00 per meter, how do you think? What speaker cable are you guys using and where to buy it? Hope to get advise from sifu-sifu here. Cheers.

I did planned to go jalan pasar and i told the sales rep about this. He commented that all the cables in jalan pasar are from China and is lower quality. Therefore I hope to get the sharing of experience from you guys (pioneer of Yamaha Home Theater System) if it is ok to get from jalan pasar.

Thank you very much
