in this case, u may need to plan well whether you have intention to go 7.1 + bi amp in future.... or only 7.1... then 7.2 amp should be more than enuff, but u may need to see the power of the amp whether good enuff to drive your speaker set with bi amp.. or u wan change speaker a speaker as well?

Nope, will not change speaker. Currently using Mezzo 6 for fronts. Mezzo itself is not that power hungry. For me, 5.1 is good enough, as I am still new in HT setup.

Dont make your decision too early on this long and winding road with a lot of upgrade poison a long the way. Had my 5.1 when I started thought thats good enuff. After playing the toys for few years upgrade to 7.1. Now I regretted I did not plan for 9.2 when I had the chance when renovating my house. Really regretted should gone for the 3010 when I had the chance.

Added on December 15, 2012, 8:19 pmHad my 1010 about 1.5 years ago when the Aventage series was first launched. Go for the 3020 if you have the moolah at least if you want to go for 7.1 + biamp it is future proof. Bought the 1010 cos I was really tight on my budget at that time.

Is yamaha rx-v363 is good? Because I just bought it rx-v363+nsp380 at rm1.3k

Haha, speaking from experience eh? Noted on that. I will see how much it cost and how much I can afford to dump in. Unless you wanna sell your A1010........

i bought 373 + 380 at rm 1.7k last month, not bad compare with my previous sony sf360. at first compare with pioneer and onkyo, done some research found pioneer cannot configure to 3.1 channel, and onkyo is more expensive rm 2.6k, of course onkyo sound is better. i put inside my room use for movie, music and video game. even configure to 3.1 but still can feel the sound coming from behind. i think the only different between 363 and 373 is the usb port for ipod. for this kind of money, not much to complaint. next may be will upgrade to jamo speaker set.

Actually my budget is below 2k.Feel like going more than 2k is far more expensive and getting ready to buy denon 1312xp but today feel like going to yamaha and have this promotion.Feel like kinda a bargain because only rm1.3k and also have usb+ARC

hi.. I also bought the same set from Yamaha Year End Sales today... trying to set up the
speakers via yamaha YPAO... but after testing all the 5 speakers, the AV shut down automatically.

when I try on again, it says "check speakers" ,... i have checked...seems everything ok...

any idea, what is going on ?

I was started with 5.1 as well... then suddenly 1 day go and use a normal 6 ohm speaker as front height become 7.1...

from tat day onwards, nvr thought of going back to 5.1 anymore haha...

and my cabling is using balia cable... hehe.... last month jus change the front and center speaker cable to audioquest G2. Can really feel the differences!!!!! Now dont bother the surround and front height yet cable coz it is conseal....

In fact my budget was just 3.5K.... but then even 1020 oredi over my budget...

haha so now going to squeeze a little bit so may consider 3020 as it is over 5K!!!!!

hmm i think you can go to yamaha malaysia website to compare the new and old model...

it is better u can go to try listen with yr ears..... lot comments that this year model is better than last year model... in term of SQ due to the material added on... then some more 4K ready... haha

but maybe at the end the price do talking.... so better go try out once

Ya.. the airplay allow you to stream the music from iphone/ipad/itunes to the amp.. but not video....
