if not mistaken, 1020 is close to 4K or slightly above 4K+....

2020 is close to 5K...

I also trying to find a place to test.. but i'm from JB too bad...

KL I think A&L have...

I have read some posts that A2020 does not sound good, but others seem to be very satisfied.....dunno what to trust.

Go test it out and use yr ears see which one is suit u... haha.......

I'm also struggling whether 2020 or 3020..... another choice maybe LX56...
*
Bro, what do you tink of the LX56? From the specs it seem superior than the 3020. My main reason for A1020 is because of the biamp and the HDMI connection, but i do not like that it does not have any display for dtsma, or dolby

Hi Bro

Confirmed have you need to hit the straight button to show the DTS-MA or Dolby True HD sign on the display panel.

Hi

It is about sound preference. Have been using Pioneer AX 10i series for quite a while until I change to Yamaha Aventage series. There was a lot of difference in the sound. You need to hear it and test it with your own ears on which you prefer. In summary i am very happy with my current Yamaha setup. Take note LX56 give you better control on the sound setting which the Yamaha lacks.
*
No bro... i did not own it yet, but i read on some comments on the internet and that is what they say

Yes, the sound preference. I heard that biamp feature from Yamaha have better SQ, that is why I am interested.

U going for 5.1 or 7.1?

if not mistaken, bi amp u will need to sacrifice 2 channel....
*
5.1 only, that is why biamp is possible. Plus, audio is important to me hahaha

in this case, u may need to plan well whether you have intention to go 7.1 + bi amp in future.... or only 7.1... then 7.2 amp should be more than enuff, but u may need to see the power of the amp whether good enuff to drive your speaker set with bi amp.. or u wan change speaker a speaker as well? laugh.gif

I'm now struggling whether 3020 or not haha..... drool.gif

damn too poisonous!!!!

now i'm waiting to change my 608 to Aventage x20... how long u been using yr 1010?

still struggling which model to go for... hah...

i'm using wharfedale diamond 9 series speaker...
*
Nope, will not change speaker. Currently using Mezzo 6 for fronts. Mezzo itself is not that power hungry. For me, 5.1 is good enough, as I am still new in HT setup.

Hi

Dont make your decision too early on this long and winding road with a lot of upgrade poison a long the way. Had my 5.1 when I started thought thats good enuff. After playing the toys for few years upgrade to 7.1. Now I regretted I did not plan for 9.2 when I had the chance when renovating my house. Really regretted should gone for the 3010 when I had the chance. cry.gif  cry.gif

Had my 1010 about 1.5 years ago when the Aventage series was first launched. Go for the 3020 if you have the moolah at least if you want to go for 7.1  + biamp it is future proof. Bought the 1010 cos I was really tight on my budget at that time.
*
Haha, speaking from experience eh? Noted on that. I will see how much it cost and how much I can afford to dump in. Unless you wanna sell your A1010........ tongue.gif

hi.. I also bought the same set from Yamaha Year End Sales today... trying to set up the
speakers via yamaha YPAO... but after testing all the 5 speakers, the AV shut down automatically.

when I try on again, it says "check speakers" ,... i have checked...seems everything ok...

any idea, what is going on ?
*
Yamaha Year End sales? Where? Do they sell Aventage series as well?

Haha... totally agreed.... rclxms.gif

I was started with 5.1 as well... then suddenly 1 day go and use a normal 6 ohm speaker as front height become 7.1...

from tat day onwards, nvr thought of going back to 5.1 anymore haha...

and my cabling is using balia cable... hehe.... last month jus change the front and center speaker cable to audioquest G2. Can really feel the differences!!!!! Now dont bother the surround and front height yet cable coz it is conseal....

In fact my budget was just 3.5K.... but then even 1020 oredi over my budget... cry.gif

haha so now going to squeeze a little bit so may consider 3020 as it is over 5K!!!!! shakehead.gif

If x10 series maybe got offer, for x20 series I dont think it have offer....as they jus launched at PJ last few days...

Ok, thanks. Any ideas on what is the difference between A2020 vs A2010 and A1020 vs A1010? If the difference ain't that much, i might choose the xx10

hmm i think you can go to yamaha malaysia website to compare the new and old model...

it is better u can go to try listen with yr ears..... lot comments that this year model is better than last year model... in term of SQ due to the material added on... then some more 4K ready... haha

but maybe at the end the price do talking.... so better go try out once
*
Hmm, I just visit the website. Seems that the improvement on xx20 to xx10 isn't that much.......however, the improvements are indeed alluring.

Ok, just a question - is Airplay bitstreaming?

Things they quote me that I buy have stock. For the avr, when I ask they have the stock but no speaker package, so did not buy because I want to test out first.

Added on December 20, 2012, 9:06 pm

they sell package, but you can't audit. I got my set at hn, about 4k with sub.

Ahh good, just be careful, bro. Better be safe than sorry, those are your hard earned cash, have every bit of sweat and blood in it hahaha
