tongue.gif this is not K

for me the OEM shocks and springs are good already. i'm still using the OEM shock/spring for the past 4 years. car had clocked 220k+, and no sign of them failing.

but the bushes ... another story le. one of the ball-joints is dead. krok-krek is everywhere ... but project superpro is coming ... smile.gif

bigger rims = higher rides + handling poor
bigger rims + sports spring = lowered ride + better handling but abs life
span shorten + comfort level low

so plan ahead on stuff u wanna change.. coz all effected..

so my plan is 0ne adjustable suspension + front and rear bar + 17 rims.... haha mebi will buy one by one... hehe

No lah..should be reasonable...
Try to avoid Campro engine, cos you will suffer with low power on low revv..unless you wanna do engine modding brows.gif

for me model from 2004-2006(except Campro engine) has good in ironed up most of problems had with Waja. And best still the engine is mitsu 1.6 which is very good in city driving and not hampering for highway cruise..

buying second hand? here's my tip
1. check the rocker color, if it's black/near black, avoid it. those regularly service, inside there is shiny. just open the oil-cap to check it.
2. check exhaust, no black smoke, no white smoke, no petrol smell. exhaust is not black. black exhaust/smoke means imperfect petrol burning. you'll lose power. white smoke means piston rings are gone, or worse case the engine block had scratches. if water come out of exhaust, the engine is running fine.
3. push the car down at the 4 corners, see if it bump up and down again. if bump down-up again the shock is dead. it should just bump up and stabilize.
4. test the car, for handling, it should go straight and not sideways. brakes should work and no screeching sound. check sound on bends to see if drive shafts are worning off.
5. new tyres with good thread is a bonus.
6. oils are not leaking and should be within their operating measurement. if they are below bar, they are leaking somewhere.
7. in cockpit, make sure it's clean. audio works. check for water leak signs. aircond does not smell, and works on all levels. check dials and buttons make sure all are functioning.

why not pay a mech to visit .... smile.gif

Guys,

When i go over small bumps at faster speed, the rear will have metal sound like rubbing each other.
If go super slow there will be no sound.
Lower arm kaput?  icon_question.gif

check the lock nut for the spare wheel - may be loose and rusty

spray some wd40 and see if it solve the problem

i spent a few hrs drivign around with proton mechanics to find that annoying "kirik kirik" (dry metal rubbing each other) noise

hope that helps

guys

need a quick consult

gonna do a 60,000km service tomorrow at PESC

apart from the normal oil & filter change. what else?

i'm planning to definitely change these two since they are quite affordable
1. spark plugs - RM 40+ (proton OEM punya)
2. fuel filter - RM60 (not oil filter)

this one may be probable, but are they needed? both never change since 0km
3. power steering fluid
4. brake fluid

what else do i need?

i don't need ATF change since I just replaced it at 52,000km (when my gearbox solenoid failed). air filter, i'll do it myself since it's simple

cepat, cepat. gonna be morning soon.

agree with lucifah, have you check the spare tyre / jack? maybe the screw that holding it loose or something,
thus causing the sound....
else, how about fuel tank bracket?
42k mileage is not the lower arm problem....

btw, guys, adjustable suspension is stiffer than the standard / oem suspension setup,
no matter how soft you adjust it.
mines, sustec, tanabe, kayaba...bla....bla.... almost feel the same. thats why i settled for the stone hard
tein adjustable. 130km/h in karak highway also 'mou fan yeng'... tongue.gif

btw, my waja is currently used by my sister, so, i took out the tein adjustable and bought a set of stock a-fuji shock absorber from imperialrealcs in garage sale. very comfy ride thumbup.gif
