What do you think about the star symbol then ?
The catchy symbol is for owners that lazy to read through ever single title so that they can just go through and search for the symbol and there you go.. smile.gif

*
heh... there are 128 characters in extended ASCII that can be a better replacement

for example
219 █
175 »
176 ░
232 Φ
233 Θ
234 Ω

u know the dril... hehehehe

Because of the RON95 maybe... hmm.gif
*
a few weeks back, my waja still have half a tank full of RON97

I drove long distance with it till it nearly ran out - drove the usual 150+ km/h stuff, lots of overtaking and things.

then halfway, i filled it up with RON95

and continued my driving. there's ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE,

Hi guys,

My 2002 waja auto, suddenly got problem with the timing.
When idle, the timing is very low, and sumtimes the engine runs very slow until it switches off. The other thing, the vibration is quite tremendous. I can feel the whole car vibrating when the timing is very low.
This thing happens out of a sudden on this week. Before this it was okie..
Anyone experiencing this b4?
*
'hanta pergi tune up ECU

this usually happens if you disconnect the batt - the ECU got reset up

or try revving the car to 3k on idle for a few minutes. solved my prob before

*
the 5-buttons at the mid console

one is for emergency signal, one is fog lamp, one is demister, one is blank, and another one is to deactivate the alarm (with a white dot on it)

Hi, I have a Waja recently. I just noticed that my service meter is around 10k+ , according to my friend, cars should be servicing every 5,000. Why mine is like over 10,000? My meter now is 103,3234, the next service meter is 104,9852.
*
memang waja recommended servicing interval is 10,000KM

been doing that and no prob

most new cars also interval 10,000KM, even my mitsu triton pickup

someone qoute me rm300 for that new arm rest (cps model).. is it ok for that price.. hmm.gif
*
does the color match your interior? AFAIK, the CPS interiors are new color schemes - different from waja batch 2004 - 2006 that has beige / dark brown combo

add: so, anyone took photos of squareballs? it's drill time or she's a he

The link is:

that is the pre-2004 waja color scheme - dark grey

mine is 2005 waja, so it's very light (and ugly) beige interior with dark brown top

Guys,

When i go over small bumps at faster speed, the rear will have metal sound like rubbing each other.
If go super slow there will be no sound.
Lower arm kaput?  icon_question.gif
*
check the lock nut for the spare wheel - may be loose and rusty

spray some wd40 and see if it solve the problem

i spent a few hrs drivign around with proton mechanics to find that annoying "kirik kirik" (dry metal rubbing each other) noise

hope that helps

guys

need a quick consult

gonna do a 60,000km service tomorrow at PESC

apart from the normal oil & filter change. what else?

i'm planning to definitely change these two since they are quite affordable
1. spark plugs - RM 40+ (proton OEM punya)
2. fuel filter - RM60 (not oil filter)

this one may be probable, but are they needed? both never change since 0km
3. power steering fluid
4. brake fluid

what else do i need?

i don't need ATF change since I just replaced it at 52,000km (when my gearbox solenoid failed). air filter, i'll do it myself since it's simple

cepat, cepat. gonna be morning soon.

I have no idea how much it cost, but certainly won't be more expensive then your ECU.
*
just to give some ppl how expensive the ECU is

a brand new Mitsu ECU is RM 5,900+, as quoted by Proton Parts Centre

a reconditioned (repaired) unit is about RM 800+

and a virgin unit taken from another car will set you back about RM 2,000+

from my experience... wink.gif

QUOTE(zaidi @ Dec 9 2009, 12:00 PM)
check your steering rack bushes. quality replacement PU bush is around RM80, while normal rubber should be around RM30 per pair.
*
QUOTE(zaidi @ Dec 10 2009, 01:15 AM)
should be pair, like this one;
http://www.mudah.my/PU-steering-bush-RM80-...ton-4665618.htm

another good candidate for bulking IMO
*
QUOTE(roxx @ Dec 10 2009, 01:43 AM)
Zaidi, does this PU will helps in handling? The mech told me before that my bush worn out oredi.. Does he mean this PU bush??
*
i've got the same prob with my then 3-yr old waja. the steering will not be straight even AFTER alignment. turns out the OEM bushing is worn and very loose

i replace it with a PU steering rack bush for about RM60 inclusive of installation. takes about 1 hr to do it since it's quite difficult to get to the bushing to replace it

once replace, it worked wonders. now, 15,000+km and still no need for wheel alignment

okay here's the price

Gated gear shifter - RM450 including installation (light on the alphabet is included also), price can be reduce if bulk

Center console arm rest box - RM180 best price, free installation also

*
itu arm rest tidak ada (ugly) beige color ka (aka 2004 - 2005 waja interior color scheme)

there is a huge diff for ron95 and ron97
*
absolutely no diff. it's just one's mental perception

unless your engine is a high performance engine, such as a 4g93t, then you'd benefit from ron97

else, there's absolutely no difference

what's so controversial about the 16" rims? did they come stock with that waja?
*
QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Dec 8 2009, 11:12 PM)
the rim was recalled back laugh.gif

*
the infamous 16" wheel has metal fatigue problem

plus, they are very very very very very very heavy (notice how "very" is very stressed)

it's a first ever case where local car manufacturer issued a recall, and on-the-spot replacement. brave call from protong
