Why my Waja only able to go for :

RM 20 @ Ron95 = Around 100km

RM 80 @ Ron95 = Around 400km only..

I heard you guys said can go until 500-600km T_T..

maybe you have heavy feet? or you always stuck in jams? or you have dirty air filter? or you never cleaned your throttle body? or tires are under-inflated? or sport-rims are too heavy? or you used thick visco engine oil? or ...

plenty of reasons smile.gif

throttle body (TB) is where the air is sucked in from air filter. there is stepper motor for air cond and 1 TPS. pic like this aaa
http://www.mudah.my/Waja-throtlle-body-4273403.htm

ask you mechanic to clean la. upah RM35 only. but say like this -
"abang, bwak turun throttle body, kasik cuci. spray elok-elok la. sensor pun cuci sekali. lepas tu, sembur sikit dalam manifold". your mech should clean with carb/TB-cleaner spray. no WD-40 here. if use by your mecha, fire him kaw-kaw.

after reassemble back everything, rev the engine to 5k++, for few mins. You will smell the hangit at the back as the carbon build up coming out.

then it's better to replace your spark plug RM30~ depend on your preference. then your idle will become high if the tb was from very dirty become clean ... ask your mech to adjust to 700-800. make sure test with air-cond on-off and radiator on-off also.

Should I have more information about you or your car number plate ? So that I can tell him I was introduced by you and see if can get further discount. =x
Make sure you read Post #350.

Tyre pressure plays an important role.
*
just tell 'zaidi waja hijau', the mech should know.

QUOTE(nayte @ Oct 30 2009, 08:56 PM)
bro cleaning the TB is supposed to give better accelerationr right? is a dirty TB responsible for having to crank the engine twice during cold start? cos lately the first time i crank the engine will stall. 2nd time only everything will be fine.

has anybody used the decarbonizing stuff for their engine before to remove the carbon deposits? any positive results?
*

it's not giving better acceleration. it just reset back to normal, ie when you first bought your car smile.gif

QUOTE(Andy0625 @ Oct 30 2009, 11:22 PM)
I dont really feel good about the D'carbo. Although I never used it before , I read that it might cause Hydro lock , foul spark plug and foul petrol smell after they did it.
Maybe you can try out those addictive or treatment that sells in Hypermarket or accessories shop instead.

Bear in mind , Nothing beats an overhaul.  smile.gif
*

foul spark plug? MAYBE it do work, as it is suppose to be cleaning the carbon build up. and the smell is the petrol+carbon. we don't know for sure. anyway i don't use it as well tongue.gif

QUOTE(yngwie @ Oct 31 2009, 10:39 AM)
i used my waja as a form of daily transport from home to office only.
weekend and balik kampung use another lousy car. hence the low yearly mileage in that waja. in fact, from last x'mas till now, it only covered around 6xxxkm. but i still have to service it according to schedule sweat.gif
*

why waste? unless the car used to go back to kg has better fuel economy and more comfort than waja. whistling.gif i think i can clock 1000km using full tank going balik kg smile.gif

using the karak highway route?  drool.gif
i used to go out with friends on certain weekend via karak - gua musang - cameron highland route, then go back home to  tapah.
it was a lot more fun driving on the winding roads where greater response and fast action is require.
they keep you awake all the time! no to mention the breath taking scenery around tasik kenyir! and the 'haunted' certain stretch.....  brows.gif
nah! waja auto make me sleepy on that road  tongue.gif
*
enjoy driving eh ... I never went through GuaMusang-Cameron before. Is the road ok and joyable for our wajas?

rclxms.gif nice ...
for me I don't find much difference for ron95 or ron97. maybe i'm not that heavy footed.
if there's ron92, which IINM is the min for our mitsu-waja, I would had used that to save $$$

But I thought if fill up when the warning light is on is bad for the car especially for Waja, as it will cause the fuel pump bad.
*
i am not quite sure about this, maybe just urban myths. it's good to always fill-up your tank anyway, when the needle is at 1/4. anyone opened their fuel-pump and verify it's because of late pumpings?

anyway for me i'll take care of the fuel-filter frequently ... at least every 30k or so.

Anyway, would like to ask a question. My headlamp (driver side) bulb always burn even i only changed it for 2 weeks. The mech told me to change the whole set of headlamp.

Should i change the whole set or there is a problem with the ECU box?
*

why the whole set? I don't see the reason to replace housing etc, but if you do replace, I want the back cover tongue.gif

send your car to workshop which repairs alternators/starter. they are knowledable for car wiring

to me if you want to use engine oil, stick to the same brand for as long as possible. this is due to different chemical mixture in engine oil, who knows what the mixture will produce.

personally i'm using shell semi synth blue for the past 3years+ and satisfied with it. i'm clocking 7k every 3months or less, so the semi suits me very well. if you are doing 10k every 3 months or less, then fully-synth is suitable for you.

buying second hand? here's my tip
1. check the rocker color, if it's black/near black, avoid it. those regularly service, inside there is shiny. just open the oil-cap to check it.
2. check exhaust, no black smoke, no white smoke, no petrol smell. exhaust is not black. black exhaust/smoke means imperfect petrol burning. you'll lose power. white smoke means piston rings are gone, or worse case the engine block had scratches. if water come out of exhaust, the engine is running fine.
3. push the car down at the 4 corners, see if it bump up and down again. if bump down-up again the shock is dead. it should just bump up and stabilize.
4. test the car, for handling, it should go straight and not sideways. brakes should work and no screeching sound. check sound on bends to see if drive shafts are worning off.
5. new tyres with good thread is a bonus.
6. oils are not leaking and should be within their operating measurement. if they are below bar, they are leaking somewhere.
7. in cockpit, make sure it's clean. audio works. check for water leak signs. aircond does not smell, and works on all levels. check dials and buttons make sure all are functioning.

why not pay a mech to visit .... smile.gif

hi all, jes feel like to ask whether waja 1.6 same chasis as wira 1.8 or not. can the aftermarket low spring of waja 1.6 be use n fit well on a wira 1.8's chasis?
any idea? or anyone got try this before?  hmm.gif
*
waja and wira chassis is completely different. waja timing-belt/gearbox is reverse side of wira, or they call it timing-belt terbalik.

i'm not sure of the sport srping, most probably incompatible.

QUOTE(chartermember @ Nov 28 2009, 10:22 PM)
Guys,

I need help and advise urgently
. I was driving along the Ampang-KL elevated highway today at approx 110-130kph and suddenly my engine stalled, all warning lights came on, luckily I managed to pull to the side as there wasn't any cars on the highway at that time. I was stunned, as I had just recently changed my fuel pump and wondered if it failed on me again as all of a sudden I just felt like there isn't any fuel going into the car.

After I pulled to the side and gathered my thoughts, I tried starting the car again, and voila it started without any problems. I am driving a Waja Campro 2006 Auto with 65k mileage on the clock coupled with on time service. Later in the day along federal highway, I felt that I was about to experiance the same problem when I the car was about to shut down as the engine was about to lose its power, in a middle of a heavy rain! Thank God it didn't stall like it did, nothing happened.

I subsequently drove to my regular mechanic and enquired on the problem, but he didnt seem to be helpful as I was told that it is not possible to diagnose to root of the problem without the vehicle acctually stalling and towed to the workshop. I was like ''WTF''. I am in a dilemma now as to what could have possible caused the car to stall but miraculously it could be start and driven thereafter. I will be travelling outstation with my family members next mont, and I certainly do not hope that the car stalls in the middle of the highway, spoiling the holiday of ours.

I sincerly appreciate if you guys could positively point me in the right direction.
*
if for me I would check the fuel delivery, check if the fuel filter is blocked or the fuel regulator faulty.
then check the electronics, any warning lights is on. analyze the ECU error. otherwise hope it does not die again.

check the spark plugs see if they need to be replaced
