I was just wondering. Does anyone of u 6500 owners also happen to have an A.C Ryan POHD?
I bought a POHD a few days ago and have been playing around with it. Now, I don't know if I'm imagining things, but I find that the PQ from the 6500 is always "richer" than the POHD. Put it simply, its always more pleasing on the 6500. Aside from being able to play RMVB files, Internet Radio, and the super fast boot time, I don't see why the POHD is superior even though the 6500 is a 2 year old product. |

QUOTE(welwitchia @ Dec 9 2009, 10:35 AM) I was just wondering. Does anyone of u 6500 owners also happen to have an A.C Ryan POHD? maybe POHD can load BD-ISO while 6500 stutters on some files... have to convert/unpack to normal BDMV folder..I bought a POHD a few days ago and have been playing around with it. Now, I don't know if I'm imagining things, but I find that the PQ from the 6500 is always "richer" than the POHD. Put it simply, its always more pleasing on the 6500. QUOTE(SIWIS @ Dec 9 2009, 07:46 PM) need to see how the 6600 handles BD-ISO files.. does it pass thro all HD audio formats like 6500 (most 1073 realtek cant do it) does it have BD lite menu (like 6500) (most 1073 don have it except HD300 series) if it does then I would prefer 6600 over 6500... (although sigma may have slightly better looking video but the 6500's BD-iSO compatibility will be a chore to use) |

Don't know about BSISO but I tried to play a Dark Knight BDMV with the POHD and I have to select the individual files to play it while the 6500 plays the movie the moment I select the Dark Knight folder.
Also, for whatever reasons, I the POHD doesn't play a ripped DVD too. Again I have to select the individual files and when I selected one that displays the DVD menu, I can't make any selections..duh! |

QUOTE(zerorulez @ Dec 9 2009, 08:31 PM) no it can't , and so cant any other 1073 or Dvico.. cant load BDJ and cant play protected BDs (i.e from BD-ROM drive)I tot 6600 maybe has BD lite and HD pass thro capabliliy (like 6500) to justify it's ripoff 2-3x price (compared to other realteks) if not why even consider 6600?? Again I have to select the individual files and when I selected one that displays the DVD menu, I can't make any selections..duh! as for POHD with BDMV, firmware not that good yet.. other 1073 can play BDMV folder without selecting tens or hundreds of M2TS file inside.. even can read the MPLS file (play list file to seek chapter) This post has been edited by ar188: Dec 9 2009, 08:38 PM |

Well, the 6600 does have a front digital display that actually looks pretty neat ;-)
Ok, will rip my Andrea Bocelli DVD tonight again into ISO format and see how it goes. Thx for the tip! |
