AIYA....normally tarc internal paper is not that difficult. However, paper 2 the internally assessed paper is a bit difficult but much more easier compare to ext exam for paper 2. The only difficult part is d ext exam for part 3 loh. I agree that ppl are taking tuition outside for paper 3. But that really depends on ppl. If u thk u wan 2 learn more, can go for it loh. If anyone wanna enjoy the college life.....tarc is a good option.....haha

yes...d internally assessed paper ( part 2 ) is nt tat hard compared 2 externally assessed de....TARC offers a gud college life....bt if u wana reli find those noe much bout ACCA....most TARC students r noobs in ACCA....they r nt so sure....so if u wan campus life...go sunway lo...o if u oni wan 2 concentrate in ur studies...chus kasturi + a few institutions lo....

question :1. how 2 build gud relationship wf ppl when ur going 2 a coll without any frenz????
2. sunway students serious in their studies o nt??? any sPM top scorers in it??

I would like to ask something regarding the job after obtaining acca...

1) after getting the acca, is it a must to work in an auditing firm? Can I work in other company like A&B Engineering firm?

2) Anyone who is working after obtaining ACCA would like to share the working experience in the auditing firm? Is it very stressful and tired?

To study all so-called professional exams, like ACCA, CIMA, AIA, ICSA, CAT, etc .... All you need is past-year questions ... you must, at least have 8-10 per sets (diets) of the paper you take, to understand thier question style and answer techniques ... please do analysis on the trend of the questions, and after you study all the topics (hopefully you can cover all of them), you should do one-round question spotting through the past-year question analysis, why?

Answer: To score the pass rate. Let say, you can spot one good question, and the question is out for your sitting, then answering it well will definately gain you close to the passing marks. But, be careful, please try answer all the questions, and do not spend all time in one question.

Good luck.

p/s: I did mention so-called professional exam is because all these exam and their respective bodies are money-minded only. Be prepared to paid them annually, which ACCA fee is around RM1000++ per annum, and MIA member is around RM200-300 per annum.

Hence, if possible, if you really want to be Malaysia Accountant (member of MIA, missing in action tongue.gif ), please do local university study on Accountancy degree, save money and no need to pay extra cost on professional body, but of course, you are lack of opportunity to have plenty of updated news / information of accountancy.

Please check which local university accountancy degrees which have been recognised by body of missing in action here:

are you studying ACCA now?

erm,i do agree that past year is important but at the same time i do think that it is good to get a good grasp of the knowledge by attending class and also reading lecturer note before attempting the past year,so far,in my acca studies, except for certain papers that i will get the past year and really read through, but for the others,i do depend on my understanding of the paper and also getting guidance from my lecturer...

but it is undeniable that past year is important in term of understanding how the examiner set the question and also how the paper is presented...

in term of the money wise, only ACCA Member need to pay around RM 1000++ per year, but for student and also affiliate that it is just few hundreds...

yes, local uni is the best choice that is fast and save, but it is not that easy to get into a local uni like UM etc to attend an accountancy course...and i also know that in fact many graduates of local uni are studying professional qualification like MICPA and ACCA,i believe there must be some reason behind that...in fact, those big audit firms are requiring their employees to take up a prof qualification like ICAEW or ACCA...so i believe the prof quali is not just "so called" but it has its value...

* CIMA, which is on management accounting, is not recognised by UK itself to conduct the auditing work, but on the other hand recognised by MIA, quite ridiculous!

Degree in Accounting from Private Local University:

MMU: http://www.mmu.edu.my/%7Efom/fom_acad_prog_BAC.htm
Uniten: http://www.uniten.edu.my/newhome/content_l...p?ContentID=189

I have feeling that Unitar's degree in accounting will be recognised too (by MIA), because of political issue.

Unitar: http://www2.unitar.edu.my/index.php?option...id=76&Itemid=41

On the other hand, if you ask, how about degree in accounting from UTAR ... this one, as per same issue, I have no guarantee on this.

UTAR: http://www.utar.edu.my/v2/portal/subconten...ntid=96&catid=3

Another way to get recognised by MIA is through MIA Qualifying Examintion:
http://www.mia.org.my/mia/qua/about/guidel...enu.asp?mid=247

NOTE: Currently, in Hongkong, ACCA is still not yet recognised by Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. HKICPA practise the concept of CPA Qualification Programme (QP) too for most of the professional bodies, including ACCA and AIA. They, on the other hand, recognise ICAEW.

in fact there are stories about how ACCA board spends member's subscription fees...like having first class flight, 5 star hotel...
but at least ACCA provides you the 'benefit'...
if your job need some title...it is really good...
if you think your job doesnt really need it...
you can just stop paying the annual member fees...and i know some ACCA lecturers did it in fact...
people would look at the qualification you have on first hand...
just depends whether you like to be in accounting field or not...

then about the cost....
for me..
in fact my colleague who grad fr local uni....regret knowing ACCA too late...
imagine they grad from local uni at age of 24 but i grad at age of 21 and we are in the same level in my firm...some more they need to attend professional class and exam now which is required by my firm...
ya...they paid lesser...
but i paid less than RM16000 for my full ACCA....and now i am earning RM2100 per month...can you count on the Return On Investment??
and then think about the time cost of the 3 years they left behind....
ya...local grad can get MIA directly...
but ask those practicing accountant...
what is the differenct aboout MIA and MICPA.....
what is the differenct between Kancil and BMW?
ya...they are cars...but can you see Kancil in china or UK?

Just would like to answer this question, other question on ACCA or other accounting body, I have no interest on it any more because, although I am from them, but I plan to jump out of them and to take another ceritificate, hopefully I will be in hot demand after this, ...

MICPA ... frankly, this is/was totally out already. They (will) die because of ACCA, CIMA, etc ...

http://www.micpa.com.my/v2/public/aboutus.asp

Unless under articleship of company, taking this body exam through personal cost is totally "useless". For those who take this body exam personally, please re-consider doing ACCA instead.

Again, I encourage doing local degree because there are 90% of guarantee for most of the students.

NOTE: Taking Advanced diploma in TARC can have many ACCA papers exempted until final 4, if not mistaken.

Good luck for those who take ACCA.

I would like to add another information on Malaysia accountant route, which is CPA.

Doing CPA is far more easier, for most of the students, because CPA is more easier compared to ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, etc for most of the students.

You may get your CPA done lovcally, without the need to go to Australia. Please do research on some of the local colleges / universities which offer degree in accounting from oversea (australia) universities. After getting the degree, you may further your career towards CPA exam.

Check HELP Institute, for example.
http://www.help.edu.my/undergraduate/baaf_uel.php#

Good luck.

then mind let us know what kind of certificate are you going into?

for ur info, there are no exemption for the part 3 of ACCA exam, therefore,an Advanced Diploma holder from TARC might be able to get exemption till part 2 and willo still need to sit for part 3 exams that are in total 5 of them....

The name SAP is acronym for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. SAP is an extremely complicated system where no one individual can understand all of it.

SAP runs on a fourth generation programming language language called Advance Business Application Programming (ABAP). It have many of the features of other modern programming languages such as the familiar C, Visual Basic, and Power Builder.

SAP are categorized into 3 core functional areas:

SAP is neither a course nor company. It is a ERP system. It is Top Teir ERP system, and it is used by many MNC's, and its market is very large (90%(?)) in the ERP system.

If you are interested, you can attend the SAP SUMMIT 2006.
