so far so good..im trying to do some comparison on the ISOs(well..suppose to be the same as a900)..but i had some small issues here..lol...

firstly...my mac has no sw to read the RAW files yet..so i guess i had to settle with xfine jpgs at the moment...and 2ndly..im trying to shoot in my room with my flash(HSS enabled)...using aperture priority..but somehow..i always get over exposed shots on iso800 onwards...hmm..stil figuring out whats going wrong..lol

Between a Flipside 200 and Fastpack 200, which is a better buy ?
I would store a Sony A200 (attached SAL18250), SAL50F18, future Flash Gun....

OMG CONGRATULATIONS achew!

The higher your ISO, the further HSS-ed flash can go. I tried my F58 with 1/32 power with wide panel pulled out, 1/1000s 50mm F1.4 ISO800 - it seems to light up something 1-2 meters away. Or you could just bounce it.

So far the only RAW processor we know of, that reads A850 files, is DxO Optics Pro Elite 5.3.5 - you can use that to export a DNG file which can be read by any RAW processor.

cjlai: Great focus control!

my personal comment.. the human is joining/blending into the trees.. since is a silhouette shot.. i find composition of the subjects become very crucial. so u gotta grap ur chances.. (unless u can ask the person to move to ur desire locaction tongue.gif )

oredi congrats u in FB but still need to x2 congrats again here! i guess u r the very First A850 user here... oredi put ur name in d first page.. A850 owner list?

btw.. i collected my A700 today~ with extend 2 years fotokem warranty yeaha icon_rolleyes.gif
money burned for this new babe (box dated 2007..with many discount voucher inside tat hav been expired !!) + 1k servicing + insurance + tax my car cry.gif look like i'll hv to wait next month for a new lens...

Just now finally got the chance to go and try the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 at Ampangmall...take a walk from klcc. thanks to albert for letting me know the place.
after trying it for just a while.. im pretty sure that this is d lens i want (over the Sal16105) finally solved my dilemma choosing between SAL vs TAMRON... beautiful solid build quality lens. sharp at most of d focal length. n d F2.8 surely help shooting in d lowlight interior.. another interesting fact i find out on the spot is the Minimal focusing distance.. is around 10cm from lens front!! instead of 1.3 feet for the kit lens from sensor. just d ideal range for shooting food thumbup.gif

d Good thing, i make up my mind on which lens to go. d Bad thing...

at first hkhk mentioned could it probably be the metering..i tried from spot to center weighted to matrix..it doesnt help...
i was wondering..im using TTL + aperture priority..should the camera adjust the correct exposure itself??? i tried to use iso1600..and camera give me shutter around 1/300..which overexposed badly..i try to use manual..i only get almost correct exposure at around 1/2000...i dont really understand y the camera choose such a low speed..

btw my DRO+ was on..does it really matter?i roughtly remember the setup was like iso800..shutter 1/200~300..F2..F58 using TTL auto..and my subject is only 0.9m away

anyway...just b4 i sleep..i did a really quick test on the iso(really quick n sloppy test)..all the photos are crop from the orig..no resize / editing done..xfine jpeg straight out from the camera..

the original image resized to 1024px and spent 3min to edit away some noises(not the best noise removal work as i only use few mins..lol..)

i guess even for normal print 1024 shd be more than enough??which i dont see much noises left after my crappy edit(my mac charges was overexposed..lol..and the photo looks abit flat..but well..it could b better tongue.gif )
