QUOTE(x_X @ Sep 15 2009, 02:36 PM) First and foremost, do your research on prices. then, go to stores/SonyStyle/Sony Centre and test it out for yourself. how does it feel in your hand, how's the weight IN your hands, is it comfortable enough for you. If it feels good for you, then do find a shop that can/willing to offer a good price for you. there's a current pricing for sony items on the 1st page. look it up. BUT, if the camera doesn't feel right for you, then find another model that suits your budget. After purchase, best you read the manual on the various functions that are available in your camera. Trust me, You'll need the info. If there's things you don't know or understand, please don't hesitate to come here and ask. This Sony Alpha thread is the friendliest thread you can find. Anyone and Everyone in here will help you in any way possible. So, Welcome to the Dslr world! P/s: these are just my RM0.02... |

QUOTE(achew @ Sep 14 2009, 11:31 PM) u wan both portrait n macro into one lens?? These macro and portrait shots are perfectly fine for me. Most people say its great for portrait too. What are the limitations of the SP90? From what i know its a fix lens @ 90mm so that would translate to ??mm on the A300? (roughtly equavalent to how many times zoom?....sorry for the noob question)sp90 is great for macro..portrait wise..i would advice u to take like half body(if not more) shot..else too many details would be revealed..lol anyway..some example of macro n portraits for ya macro » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « portrait » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « btw..these shots only represent my newbie lvl of skill..it does not represent the limitation of the lens...LOL.. There is a version of SP90 for A300 right? This post has been edited by lightning69: Sep 15 2009, 04:31 PM |

should be 135mm on aps-c sensor.
focal length x 1.5 = 35mm equivalent focal. |

The SP90 is fix at 135mm...hmm..never use a fix lens before so not sure about the convenience. Use to have zoom where I can zoom in and out to frame my picture but this mean I have to move myself clsoer or further away from subject to compose?
Is the AF fast for the SP90 on the A300? |

AF speed..well..its slow compare to my other lenses...but well..99% im on MF with SP90..so the focusing speed isnt an issue for me...i guess for portrait its ok to AF..for macro..i stil prefer MF =D anyway...this is probably my last selfportrait with my beloved a300... *sobs* trying some diff style of PP since im bored at home =) this probably wont be considered as a "photo" anymore..lol..but well..i don care..hehe ![]() a300 iso200 50mm exposure = manual F2.5 shutter 1/60s F58 attached with DIY Flash Ring @ 1/4 24mm bokehs were shot seperately and merged(room too small T_T) c&c r always welcomed as usual =) This post has been edited by achew: Sep 15 2009, 06:21 PM |
