AychTeeSee 3.0.1 is my main ROM now :-) Ultra snappy, no bloat from HTC. I prefer this compared to MCR 3.2b5.

There are many updates/info to be arranged for everybody at the 1st page of this thread. Sadly, the TS of this thread is KIA since the creation of it. I think somebody already asked mod/staff to help updating the 1st page, but unfortunately no love.

1. Last time got promotion at Mid Valley, about a month ago priced at RM1999 if I remember correctly. 2GB microSD comes inside the box.

2. To use Papago, you need to buy the app. Unless...

3. The camera is horrendous. In my opinion my previous phone SE W610i 2MP is superior. Seriously. Hero's camera is laggy, autofocus fuped. Useable only at shiny weather. Indoor/night shot is hopeless.

4. 1x data cable, 1x sealed battery, 1x charger/power adapter, 1x 2GB microSD, 1x quick guide, 1x accessories brochure, and of course the phone, if I remember correctly.

You may haggle the seller to give you free casing or screen protector. Or maybe a higher speed & capacity microSD. Avoid class 2 at all cost.

I think long press the input box, and pick your Pinyin. For example,

Check http://is.gd/8VqXY to see some hint installing your SDK.

Make sure your ME is working correctly to get the paid apps.

Clear the cache and force stop the Market.

Else, copy paste into your notepad, save as Market.bat. Connect your Hero with data cable to your PC. Then double click the Market.bat.

CODE
adb remount
adb shell setprop gsm.sim.operator.numeric 310260
adb shell setprop gsm.operator.numeric 310260
adb shell setprop gsm.sim.operator.iso-country us
adb shell setprop gsm.operator.iso-country us
adb shell setprop gsm.operator.alpha T-Mobile
adb shell setprop gsm.sim.operator.alpha T-Mobile
adb shell kill $(ps | grep vending | tr -s ‘ ‘ | cut -d ‘ ‘ -f2)
adb shell rm -rf /data/data/com.android.vending/cache/*

No. Change microSD won't remove your root.

Bear in mind that after reboot you need to re-apply ME again as the spoofing is gone after reboot. Clear the cache and force stop the Market app, then only apply ME.

I don't know what's the real problem, unless I see the screen capture of that blank screen.

It's good to wipe if you flash your Hero from a ROM to a different ROM. E.g from stock to MCR, or from MCR to AychTeeSee.

Wipe is normally not needed when flashing a ROM to its newer version. E.g from MCR 3.0 to MCR 3.1.

I sync my contacts with http://www.google.com/contacts

Else, use adb

CODE
adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases

Titanium Backup is good too I heard. But unfortunately for you, root is required.

If you are using Windows 7 and connected to the Internet, just plug in your Hero. The OS will install and manage the driver automatically.

Install the drive 1st. The driver comes with HTC Sync software.

Rooting is to get full access to your system as in to be able to access/modify anything under the /

Rooting won't get you paid apps for free. To download paid apps for free. But fret not, we have a name for that though. Pirating.

Rooting will allow you to spoof the Market, so then you will have access to paid apps, which only certain countries have.

And when you have the access to paid apps in the Market, you can buy them with a credit card. Certainly not with RS, MU, MF or what have you :-)

In short, rooting your Android won't get you the paid apps for free. Unfortunately no.
