Guys i need some help...Let me start,Im 17 dis year with weight @ 93kg/160cm tall!..I just joined gym 2 months back,my main intention is to lose weight and built up my muscle..But i dun want to look like those bulky/buff type..Just a normal body with muscle..So,last week the Trainer in my gym(celebrity fitness) told me that i should not do cardio and carrying weights together so that i wont be buff..He said just do cardio only for now until i burn enough fat!

But,my friend in the Fitness Concept(was an ex CF trainer) told me that that is all bullshit. He said to burn fat faster,i need to cardio and weight training together!

Im now very confused guys...Helpp!!

Your friend isn't lying. Getting yourself some more muscle mass will do you good in losing fat.

Guys do u think i should get the whey protein shake? Is it suitable for my age?Im thinking of getting it tomoro at GNC ...
*
There's nothing wrong with whey protein. It isn't some sort of drug. It is what it says it is, protein, more or less the same stuff you'd get from chicken, beef or fish, just in higher concentrations. So yes, if you don't mind spending, by all means get it.

I have. Flavour wise, it's okay I suppose. Though, it's definitely far poorer value for money as compared to Scivation or ON.

QUOTE(Black Judy @ Mar 6 2010, 11:29 PM)
been training for 5 months, started out at 50kg, gain 10kg after 3 months, and started plateau ever since. Stopped comsuming supplements (ON whey) after the first 3 months. Well i did not train my legs, maybe thats the reason i started to plateau.
I dont train my legs because im afraid it might stunt my growth, but the muscle imbalance is too hard to ignore. My upper body is larger than my lower body, so I started adding Squat into my routine this week and see how it goes. Well yesterday is the first day I squat and I can merely squat 30kg 5x5, thanks to my chicken legs. My quad gets freaking sore today.

Hye guys, just wanna know..normally i go to the gym 5 times a week but is there a need to eat whey protein on the day i dont go to the gym?? Thanks
*
Whey protein is just a convenient method of getting as much protein as we need in a day. If you don't get enough from solid meals, then use whey to add on.

haha thats so lame dan. =.=
muahaha... well, i guess his body is great.
maybe not for us who is into body builders, but he indeed has a lean body.
not hugely packed with muscles, but good enough.
plus, he can dance and sing. =.=
thats wat girls dig most. haha
*
Girls only dig you when you're lean. Once you start bulking and/or your BF% increases a little, nobody likes you anymore. vmad.gif

Unless of course you're Kane Sumabat. rclxms.gif

Oh yes, what're you guys' opinions on regular pullups vs kipping pullups. Which do you prefer?

I find regular pullups engage my arms and shoulders a lot more whereas kipping pullups allow me to engage my lats, forearms and abs more than the former. I do both kinds anyway, though.

the spirit shown in Rain is like he was forced to do all these.

DeFranco? They paid and beg for to be trained
*
Well, almost all the guys at Defranco's gym are serious athletes, who strive to be among the very best in what they do. Rain is an actor wanting to look lean and tough for a movie. Not saying his training is simple, but there's a big difference in motivation and determination levels there.

Question, do you cook your eggs or d'you gulp them down raw?

On another note, on the topic of stamina and cold drinks. My take on it is that cold drinks do not affect your stamina adversely, though I've got a friend who is adamant in believing drinking cold beverages will ruin your stamina. How would I explain to him how/why cold drinks don't affect your stamina. Or if I'm mistaken and he's right, what's the explanation for cold drinks affecting stamina as he doesn't have an explanation for his claims either. Just trying to understand this particular topic.

I think ur friend is wrong. I have friends who drink cold drinks, smokes, drink alcohol, and yet they're playing football for the states, and they last the whole 90 minutes. Just my opinion though

Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to have the explanation for it? (IF there actually is an explanation) hmm.gif
