Yes is due to bad contact, I haven't got mine. Just that I read about complaints like this when I was reading reviews of it. So was just wondering how common it is among D90 users with MB-D80.

Loss of power as in? The grip becomes not responsive? Or battery power drains?

It could be rough handling.. Maybe they dropped it.
It's really hard to imagine how it can spoil when the build is so darn solid.

So expensive? I can get it around RM 450 to RM 500.

3rd party may be a good replacement too if can't afford. smile.gif

I was thinking of i have a lower capacity battery, then it'll run out of juice quicker and therefore result in lower recharging time? Since voltage would drop slightly also.

Anyway, is there a lot of difference between the Low Self Discharge batteries and those normal NiMH high capacity battery? I know Sanyo Eneloop 4AA + charger is around RM140.
*
imho, there is only a slight difference between the LSD batts and the usual old skool NiMH, in my experience when using GP Recyko+ and GP NiMH 2700, i find that, NiMH obviously lasts longer coz higher capacity if u use it in one go. if u keep it for a week after charging and then continue to use it again, a lot of power would be gone already. On the other hand, recyko being a LSD, it keeps the power so u can keep it as spare in case u just need to use your camera for one or two shots once awhile. However, when doing a photoshoot for a event or smth, i notice that recyko charges my flash slower than NiMH. Just a lil bit slower. Not to say that much difference. I think of the NiMH like a big aggressive guy with much strength but not as much value as the LSD being a wise business man.

Thats just from my personal experience la. No lab testing or wtv rclxms.gif
