now i've an option.
If i got rm500 around.
Should I upgrade my keyboard ?
My headphone currently using is ath-a500. quite good for gaming. just dun have surround.

What keyboard are u using now? If can, just get a g15 and creative xfi soundcard. Xfi soundcard pretty good for gaming but not really for music. As for your headphone, very good already loh. flex.gif flex.gif

EDITED: U want tarantula ah? If u got a sweaty hand, forget it. Im using tarantula now, only numpad keys are visible. laugh.gif

If the virtual 7.1 does improve a lot over my ath-a500 in fps game, I think its worth.
I tot you got ur 5Hv2 ? biggrin.gif

I've just updated my Mamba's Firmware to v1.08.02. Downloaded it weeks ago but forgot to update it, LOL.

I think it completely solves any jittering issues of the mouse. I'm getting ZERO jitters even when I click it without holding the mouse, and the tracking is as sweet as ever, unlike on v1.07. Bravo, Razer.

Mamba users, update your driver (v1.05) and firmware (v1.08.02).

yongjk, go for the megalodon straight. Don't look here and there
Once you try you can't stop. I myself have tried the megalodon
Megalodon can fit with my soundcard. I tried with onboard soundcard and it rocks
If you can spend some cash for a proper sound card
Beware that you will make your ears cry because of the sound laugh.gif
@igor87: Thanks for the tip. I'm updating my mamba now tongue.gif
@mois: My brother! My tarantula keys also fade already
The numlock keys looks perfect and some other too laugh.gif
Sweaty hand+Tarantula= BIG NONO! laugh.gif

I believe the Megalodon will by-pass any soundcard you have installed, instead processing the sound itself.

so it will have identical sq regardless of whatever soundcard you're using, be it high end dedicated ones or on board.

yah i think so.
since the engine itself is a dac. so any soundcard will bypass it.
or soundcard act as amp.

different headphone, different frequency response / tuning.
some are tuned to bring out frequencies related to footsteps / gunshots, ie. more mids, so they sound clearer with less bass to get in the way.

how far are u into cod4? got play competitions?
lets say for a smaller map like Crash, its possible to hear ppl jumping off from buildings and landing from far away.
so if u cant, then its time to change ur headset.
then again, better sound is just to complement the skills u already have...ur definitely not going to attain godmode tongue.gif

well im sure your ath-500 headphones is good enough for good sound positioning in games.
afterall, gamers have been surviving with stereo sound for donkey yrs before 5.1 and even 7.1 became popular.
better work on ur skills first la...aiming / reaction / anticipation / etc...
then once u reach a certain level...u may start wishing u had more accurate sound positioning like how far / how high / how low etc...then only go get a better headset.
but if ur like blacktrix and just want it for the sake of uhh wanting it...then i guess nothing can stop u from getting the megalodon tongue.gif
