Chill mate, chill.

Anyway, that's some massive mouse feet on the Naga! I wonder if hyperglide will ever make replacements for it.

Personally I don't like it, a bit too OTT. But well, I didn't like the Mantis design too, which a lot of people liked, so who knows?

I'm interested in the Megasoma though. Would want to know if my Mamba would be any good on it.

The ambient glow might have been referring to the neon green Razer logo. Notice that in the Megasoma gallery page in razerzone, the big logo cannot be seen at all. Perhaps the logo glows in the dark.

If that is true, an all black Megasoma is doubtful. Glow in the dark fluorescent paint will not be 'invisible' on a black surface, forfeiting the 'exclusive ambient glow' Razer is aiming for.

Again with the lame gimmicks. Razer should grow up and stick to what they do best - black beauties.

And no, there are no speed/control editions of the Megasoma.

Prices of Razer products here are either the same, or cheaper than in the US. In europe it's a lot more expensive. So you have nothing to compain about.

And the Megasoma is 10usd more than the Destructor. Probably around RM170-180 here.

Got an Everglide DKTBoard yesterday to replace my Lycosa Mirror. Much better in term of feel. Incomparable in terms of perceived quality. Now just need to get used to the new layout.

You're not alone anymore, everdying =)

I've just updated my Mamba's Firmware to v1.08.02. Downloaded it weeks ago but forgot to update it, LOL.

I think it completely solves any jittering issues of the mouse. I'm getting ZERO jitters even when I click it without holding the mouse, and the tracking is as sweet as ever, unlike on v1.07. Bravo, Razer.

Mamba users, update your driver (v1.05) and firmware (v1.08.02).

I believe the Megalodon will by-pass any soundcard you have installed, instead processing the sound itself.

so it will have identical sq regardless of whatever soundcard you're using, be it high end dedicated ones or on board.

dude juz buy the megalodon only lo cause if u buy the card u nid the money to buy the speaker if u buy headset juz megalodon only^^ no nid buy the speaker coz the megalodon got sendiri punya soundcard  cool.gif

If you're using it ONLY for gaming then yeah, the Megalodon is well, mega. But for movies and music especially, you'll need a proper dedicated soundcard. You can then pair it with a decent pair of headphones and get acceptable directional clarity too. On board soundcards are useless. When I'm doing work on my laptop (with on board sound obviously), I'll need to turn on my desktop (decent X-Fi soundcard and Razer Mako) to play music. My electricity bill shoots up to the moon, but well, it's a fair trade off.

But for gaming at CCs.. I guess you'll need the Megalodon.

LOL is the armadillo so important? And the DKTBoard is so small anyway. I'm still getting used to the key layout >.<. I find the cable is a bit too short for my desktop, need to route it in a particular way for it to be just about long enough. I'll probably get a USB hub for it soon.

well, how often have u gone to lan tournaments?
it is irritating having the mouse cable drop behind the table edge til there is no slack in the cable causing drag on the mouse.
u can put something heavy on the end of the cable so it wont move to give it some slack, but there is still drag cos most of the cable is on the mat.
thats why armadillo and mouse bungees are designed so that the cable is higher, giving it somewhat a feel of a wireless mouse.
*
Right, that makes sense. I'm not a serious gamer so I wouldn't know (don't join tournaments la). And lan parties among friends have always taken place at my house haha.

I wouldn't want any Starcraft 2 specific buttons or any reference to it whatsoever on my next keyboard. I'll pass on Razer's Starcraft 2 product trio and wait for their mainstream (high end) keyboard.

buy razer megalodon.. because razer mamba is just an ordinary gaming wireless mouse.. mouse no need get expensive cuz its the same. get deathadder is good enuf liaw... u need sound quality when u play game ^^

Added on September 1, 2009, 5:57 pmi need help~~ T.T what is the difference between razer bag first edition and new edition T.T
*
I strongly disagree. It might not make you play, or enjoy games any better, but trust me, the Mamba no ordinary mouse. Self satisfaction, sense of occasion, cool factor, they all count.

But since he already has a Lachesis, itself no slouch, then yeah, get the Megalodon first (or better yet, the Mako).

I use my Mamba mostly at 2000dpi too.

Creative soundcards are not that great anymore nowadays. Strictly for gaming then yes, it's probably the best bet next to Auzentech.

But for overall use - games, music, movies - there are better choices out there. And of course, quality comes at a price.

My current Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio is just about decent enough for music. Didn't opt for better ones because it came bundled with my motherboard. Next round of upgrades will include a higher end soundcard for sure.

I already have a Destructor. If you meant the Megalodon, not really, because I'm loving my Mako to death. Though I might get one anyway, just not to disturb my neighbours at night with my music.
QUOTE(mois @ Sep 1 2009, 06:47 PM)
That was legend. Pretty hard to find one these days.
Isnt people use DAC over soundcard for music and movies?
*
Yup hardcore audiophiles can't stand normal soundcards la haha. I'm no audiophile, but I can tell the difference in SQ between lousy and good soundcards. The Mako sounds great even with a low end soundcard though, but obviously it's even better when paired with a good soundcard.

different needs for different gamers.

Very good point notworthy.gif
The Megalodon is good, but in no way can it match a proper good souncard + good headset combination.

Can't you guys get a joke? I've always said that my DKTBoard is a temporary keyboard, to last me until Razer releases a new, good keyboard.
There are no new keyboard as of yet. Everdying just commented that Razer might be trying to sell off their old Lycosa Mirror stock to make way for a new one. The key word here is MIGHT.

FYI, I replaced my Lycosa Mirror with this DKTBoard because I didn't like it much. The DKTBoard is much better in my opinion.
QUOTE(kahtsin @ Sep 2 2009, 06:02 PM)
since you got Lachesis get megaldon then..cause i heard Mamba have alot of problems
*
Not to sound like a broken record, defending the Mamba here, but NOT all Mambas are problematic, only a select few. I'm using mine everyday, not with much care I must add, and it's working perfectly without a hitch. Any jittering issues have been fixed with the latest Firmware. The squeaking scroll button is not a widespread problem, and can be RMAed easily.
