dear all,

i accidentally updated my itunes to itunes 8.2, and i have a jailbroken iphone 3G. do u think is there any danger in me to connect my iphone 3G to itunes 8.2 ? I'm afraid it will automatically lock my phone. I'm currently using a jailbroken iphone 3G 2.2.1 (officially unlocked).

In addition to that, is there anyway to make my itunes back to 8.1 ?

No don't worry. The iTunes 8.2 just prevents the jailbreak GUI's like QuickPwn etc to not function. If you already have a jailbroken unit, it should not be a problem at all. You would be able to use your iPhone on your iTunes just fine.

Yes, you can. Check MuscleNerd's guide on doing so. It's deep in detail, and easy to understand smile.gif

It is fine as it is but what if, in the event that something happens to your phone which requires you to restore your phone? You would not be able to jailbreak it again. So, that would be the problem.

Well yes, that would be a problem, but in his case, he has already updated to 8.2, and if he needs to jailbreak his unit in any circumstances, he can always follow MuscleNerd's guide to uninstalling it.

They should not be in the springboard but in the folder. What you can do is go back to Categories, return the apps, delete the folder, re-create another one and re-do the process. That should help.

Yeah, there's a solution but I was just highlighting the consequences should anyone want to update to iTunes 8.2. Being aware is better to beware.....

Just for you, I did for my phone what I proposed and I had no problem. Given this situation, I am sorry, mate, I cannot be of further help. Perhaps someone else can chip in to assist?!

Do try out the iPhone_backup utility. Seem like a good way to backup your contacts, notes, sms etc without having to worry that you can't sync with Outlook.

Anyway, have look here on how to sync with Outlook: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=25146637

I have place iClarified tutorials on how to uninstall itunes 8.2 @ http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/984406 for both Mac and Windows.

@lycan87

Make sure you have iTunes 8.1 installer before you uninstall 8.2 following the iClarified guide.

if it was the app store app you can hold the app icon until it giggles( if this word correct?, haha) then there an 'x' mark beside the icon.
if the app from cydia you can uninstall it from cydia.

and also native app cannot be delete. may we know what app you were referring to?

Or as an alternative to removing Cydia apps, you can use Cydelete.

DJ gang 'used stolen credit cards to buy their OWN music on iTunes then pocketed £200,000 in royalties'

A gang of DJs used stolen credit cards to buy their own music on iTunes in a scam that netted about £200,000 in bogus royalties, police said today.

Nine people were arrested after detectives raided properties in London and the Midlands as part of an international operation.

The arrests follow a joint investigation with the FBI that began in February.

Apple boss Steve Jobs. Apple iTunes and Amazon.com were targeted by a gang of musicians who uploaded their music and then used stolen credit cards to buy it

A London DJ is among the gang who police believe uploaded music to Apple iTunes and Amazon.com for sale between September 2008 and January 2009 before spending around £460,000 buying the tracks using 1,500 stolen credit cards.

Apple and Amazon then paid royalties on the sales totalling nearly £200,000, while the gang members enjoyed the added benefit of boosting their position in the music charts.

Detective Chief Inspector Terry Wilson said: 'This has been a complex investigation to establish what we believe to be an international conspiracy to defraud Apple and Amazon.

'This investigation, with its national and international dimension, exemplifies why we have set up this national response to e-crime. It shows the success that can be achieved through our close working relationship with the FBI.

'We are now making it more risky for criminals who seek to exploit the Internet and commit e-crime across national borders. We are working hard through partnership with industry and law enforcement to combat e-crime and are committed to pursuing those responsible.'

It is thought the gang compiled 19 songs to put on the websites and that their songs even attracted the attention of music industry bosses.

The group allegedly paid an annual £18-per-album fee to music distribution service Tunecore to get their albums uploaded onto the sites before downloading them at £6 a time.

Six men and three women were arrested at addresses in London, Birmingham, Kent and Wolverhampton.

All nine are in custody at police stations in London and the Midlands on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering.

How much does a 1st gen iPhone 16GB cost now?
good condition except for some minor scratches on the rear.

I heard that Maxis is offering a maximum of RM1,200 for old iPhones.
Is it true? biggrin.gif
