Well, the bright side of not winning is Arsenal will not be overconfident in matches to come.

Remember last season we won against ManU yet we are a drift away from them at season end.

Really good performance by the lad without their captain and not solely depending on any player.

RvP did very well today and Arshavin looks lost after sometime and not presence.HE did gave a good goal and a wonderful pass but after that look really not into the game.

Diaby skills was good but not enough in the game.ManU defense leak many times throughout the game and just personal mistake by Arsenal players give them the goal.

Sad day for me.Double dissapointment.

Like I said, Man Utd not at their best masked the fact that we were well well below par.

Yes agreed. But they played not at their best because of us. And vice versa I suppose. We didn't win the game but it's still very far to go. So the fact that we played better is something we can be happy about. The only thing we can be happy about I might add.

The only thing I can say is that it is our good performance in the midfield that make the devils look 'not at their best'.
Song did well, considering how much dangerous balls has he intercepted.

The only lad that was below par is Eboue and Ramsey.

yes losing 3 points is always a bad thing, but i'm trying to see this in a positive way. first of all it's still very very early in the season. and haha i think i'm saying this quite a lot of times today, the sense of being wrongly done by the referee, the sense of injustice might just be used by wenger as a secret weapon. yea i agree it will have a negative affect on them today, but i hope tomorrow they'll wake up and start fighting hard again.

i hope aw can comeout with something after this after kena ayam-ayamkan & hanjeng2kan by ma nu supporters. Aw like clown.

don u felt angry aw? Still wan ur 6th season straight trophyless?

Since the world is already so obviously against us (Eduardo's case), there is no really no need for AW and Arsenal to whine or do that. What they can do is let the ball speak the words.

i have no comment on the rooney dive coz i didnt see it. but that fletcher tackle on arshavin is a fkin LEGITIMATE penalty. but i dont expect the media to shine any light on this, and i'm willing to bet the media will focus on wenger's sending off.
*

Both were surefire penalty. Rooney was clever. He kept running although he knew Almunia will throw himself across, and gladly took the tumble.

The fact that Almunia put his hands out is already an offense. Dive or not, the ref only looks at Almunia's intention.

This I do not agree. The only thing I agree with you is yes, we did play well but only defensively. We had Nani and Valencia and to a certain extent Rooney in our pocket. But for me offensively we were very poor. Like I mentioned before, we had absolute zero movement and this is where the Man Utd defense got it easy. No runs no nothing until Song and Denilson were forced to dribble themselves. We were absolutely let down by our forwards today IMO bar RVP.

As for the Rooney penalty. Its a penalty 100% not a dive. Definite contact was made, Rooney went down, straightforward penalty for me. But it can be argued Rooney was virtually on the way down before Almunia touched him and he was going nowhere having just smacked the ball out of play.

Match report from skysport.

Man of the match: Tough call but Wayne Rooney looked a clas act throughout, setting up plenty of attacks and creating the penalty for United's opening goal.

Moment of the match: Fletcher took out Arshavin inside the United penalty area, handled the ball in the tackle and was waved on. Arsenal fans should have known that things weren't going their way right there.

Attempt of the match: Van Persie hit the crossbar from a free-kick with Foster well beaten. Could have changed the complexion of the game.

Save of the match: Almunia's save from Nani in the dying moments was superb.

Talking point: Are United guaranteed a penalty at Old Trafford? Should they start games there 1-0?

Goal of the game: Arshavin scored an absolute beauty. A superstar in the making.
