QUOTE(sakaito @ Aug 24 2009, 06:40 PM) i think AW should rest cesc. His hamstring has been acting up ever since preseason. So, i don't think it's easy but it's necessary to rest him. Let him rest the next few weeks. I think if Ramsey and Diaby can be consistent, i don't see why not rest cesc. I think Denilson, Song and Diaby combo is something we haven't seen yet and certainly there's an element of surprise there. Ramsey also could cover for cesc but his lack of experience could be exploited by the likes of carrick/scholes/fletcher and ireland/robinho. all in all.. i think Wednesday's game is the most crucial to get thru to the group stages. ManU is just another league game and i don't mind if we lost to the at OT. It's not easy playing there anyway. but can they? i doubt it. but watever. having cesc out for a few weeks is better than playing him, him getting injured and off for a few months. and on the mu game, have some faith. i know its not easy to beat them at OT, but i dont think we will give up so easily. at least a draw

QUOTE(iglue @ Aug 24 2009, 08:46 PM) still no news on cesc? kinda scared if he wont make it for the trip to old trafford. from arsenal.com, arsene said that it might be 3 weeks, but cesc says its not bad. arsenal.com says they will have the news by tuesday. we shall know tmr. right now, no news is bad news

the youngsters are off to a good start too, beating fulham 3-0 =) and i agree with Quick... chelsea do look strong. we have to keep winning coz i dont see them dropping points in the near future.

true mu has spoilt the party for us many times lately, thats why this saturday its time for revenge! they lost ronaldo and tevez( yeah i know we lost players too...) so its probably the best time to beat them. if cesc is back, i think we have a better chance.

got this from arseblog, makes sense abt cesc's injury QUOTE The Mail is reporting that he's going to be out for three weeks, which would see him miss the United game, but we'll have to just wait and see. Most of what you read in the Mail should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt. The difficulty is that after the United game we head into a pesky Interlull and if we manage to get him through that game there's no chance for him to rest. Spain will be quite within their rights to call him up.
Arsene may have to think a bit beyond United in terms of this one. If he declares him injured it'll mean Cesc can avoid international duty and recover properly before the visit to the other, richer, part of Manchester on September 12th. I have to think the manager will err on the side of caution here. It's early in the season and we'd be better off ensuring he's fully fit and ready for the rest of the campaign instead of trying to nurse him through an injury which could get worse. he got it quite right. maybe its for the best we let cesc not play. if he goes to spain, who knows what alonso might do this time?
