Harsh to blame the goal on Sagna. Yes the goal came from his side but if you noticed our defense had a pretty nice line apart from Gallas who was caught asleep and did not notice all his teammates had stepped up. Gallas should have stepped up and Donati would have been definitely offside. If anything it was Gallas who was at fault IMO. Pause when Loovens or whoever it was begins to lob the ball and you can clearly see it was poor positioning from Gallas. The slow mo replay clearly shows it was Gallas who played Donati onside as well a bit later into the video.

Then again I'll let Gallas off this one as he really looked knackered and tired towards the end. I guess its just a bit of fatigue creeping in at the end. Hope he will recover fully and be fresh by Saturday.

*
I actually find it hard to blame Gallas for the goal. Sure, with hindsight it may seem that Gallas should have moved forward for the offside trap, but it's also easy to nitpick Bak for not covering Donati's run.

My point is, it was a wondershot by Donati which harshly speaking, on any other day it might just go wide instead of into the net.

I agree with you bro.But in my opinion, after this incident. They might implement a new rule in diving. Instead of yellow card, they might be slap a ban on the player
*
I don't think the authorities will have the balls to implement any rule. If they bothered, they would have done it long time ago.

Like Arsene, I agree with the use of instant video replays to aid referee decisions. Not that every single whistle blow should be reviewed, but only for difficult situations where goals are involved. It won't take much time to review anyway, 30 seconds to a minute will suffice, and this can easily be added on as extra time.

Nani is not the main person i'm worry of. Its actually the workhorse of Rooney and Fletcher and to a certain extent Michael Carrick. These are the unsung heroes of the team, with the exception of Rooney who's pretty well received among the fans. When you cut out Fletcher, naturally you cut out the supply to Berbatov who's pretty tricky with his neat flicks and one touches inside the box. Man Utd is pretty dangerous inside the box with their almost perfect understanding between the strikers. Key to it is stopping the midfield workhorse. Another player worth mentioning is Evra and his penetrating run as he's a good crosser.

I think we'd probably flood the midfield and prolly play RVP as a lone striker with Arshavin dropping abit lower to give more support. NB52 could even start too, given his ability to hold the ball and willingness to take a run at defenders. Plus, his height is an asset in setpieces situations and will give Man Utd some worry especially now that people are starting to take notice of Vermaelen and our top goal scorer, William Gallas looking menacing.

I hate to bring up the topic of Eduardo's dive again... But it just suddenly hit me, that after this incident last night, there is a possibility he might get an undeserved reputation as a diver.

I wont be surprised if referees choose to ignore any OTT challenges on the Croazilian for the next few games. Especially in places like Old Trafford or Anfield where there's always pressure from the home fans on referees.

In Bak's defence he was merely following his teammates in pushing up for an offside trap. You don't track runners in an offside trap which would defeat the whole purpose of an offside trap if you do.

I don't know but to me if an offside trap fails it only means poor communication between defenders and in this case Gallas fell asleep. Everyone was clearly in line except for Gallas who was well out of position. And when I mean in line even the midfielders and strikers were all in their assigned positions. When the ball was played to Donati you can clearly see in the slow mo part of the video the shape of our team with the exception of Gallas sticking out like a sore thumb well out of position from the defensive line.

Yes, a wondershot but if Gallas was in position in the first place there might not even have been a wondershot.

Agreed. It was Gallas' fault for this one. Nothing to do with Bak.

For a change, I might be able to join and watch live, rather than requesting highlights. Where's the proposed venue?
